Rooted Living Buddha: Where is Hell?
Where the hell is it? Author: Where is the root of living Buddha's hell? Speaking of this topic, I also remembered a short story. When I was studying the Five Classics in Wuming Buddhist College of Longyi Temple in Aba, the compassionate guru was full of Dharma happiness every day, giving us lectures and lectures with a smile. Every time I see the guru's merciful smile, I naturally feel indescribable joy and self-confidence, as if I can't live without the guru's smile, so I study Buddhism with him diligently. In the process of teaching Buddhism, the guru often mentioned the pain and karma between the six divisions in the wheel of hell and karma, but he never said where the hell is, and I never thought of asking the guru in the past: "Where is the hell?" ? Three years after studying Buddhism, fellow initiates bravely stood up and argued the scriptures and laws in the face of more than 800 eminent monks and virtues. But every time I debate Buddhist scriptures and Buddhism in Wuming Buddhist College, I always find excuses to avoid the debate, because I always feel that my knowledge is very poor, my knowledge is very shallow and my wisdom is very low. I can't argue with those monks and virtues at all, and the language is different. Wouldn't it be if I stood up and debated Buddhist scriptures and dharma? So the more I think about it, the more I dare not stand up. In this way, day after day, three years have passed and time flies. One day, one of my classmates, named Lang Guo, was very knowledgeable and had a good personality. He is also humorous and often jokes, but his personality is a little stiff. He ran over and grabbed my hand and dragged me into the Buddhist meeting to debate the scriptures. In front of hundreds of monks, he said, "This man, as everyone knows, is very knowledgeable. When debating scriptures, his tongue is very iron. He must be allowed to debate the Bible today. What do you think? " Everyone said "good". What he said, to me, was like a sudden thunder and rain in summer. I was not prepared at all, so I thought, what should I do? Arguing about what? This is really embarrassing. It's over! Just then, the guru's smile appeared in front of my eyes, still so bright and warm, and his eyes lit up my heart. Suddenly I feel very practical, warm and confident. The monks in the whole temple are quietly waiting for me to debate the scriptures, and all eyes are fixed on me. I have stood in the center of the Dojo of the debate. I know I have no choice but to bite the bullet and rush forward. At this critical moment, a puzzling question "Where is it?" suddenly appeared in my mind. I am the front debater, belong to Party A, and have the right to ask questions. The object of the debate is the rear, generally more than ten people, all of whom belong to Party B, that is, the well-known debater, and have the obligation to answer. At this time, I will go up to Party B and ask, "Where is it?" When I asked this question, all the monks in the temple burst into laughter. Is my question naive? Doesn't make sense? Is this the wrong question? Why are they laughing? Can't you understand my accent? These questions keep popping up in my mind (I still don't know why they laughed in the first place). I asked Party B for the second time: "Where is it?"? Suddenly, the monks in the whole temple were quiet, silent, as if they could only hear the sound of breathing, as if everyone was waiting for Party B's answer, or were rethinking this question. The merciful guru still looked at me with a smile and kept nodding. Later I asked Party B for the third time: "What the hell?" There is still no reply, so I have to argue one more question. However, until now, no one has answered my question. (1) Regional Hell: Indian Hinayana Buddhism believes that there is hell under the earth. According to some scripture, there is a hell under the Gangdise mountain1300,000 kilometers. But many people will say, who has been so deep underground? Who knows? What Buddha and people with eyes can see is invisible to ordinary eyes. For example, we can't see the bacteria in the water, but the Buddha's eyes can see clearly and advise the world. According to Yong Zhong's Ku, there are hell and hungry ghosts at the foot of Mount Sumi, people and animals on the mountainside of Mount Sumi, the top of the seven golden mountains has no sky, and the top of Mount Sumi has 33 days. There are four desires, seventeen colors and four colorless worlds in the void, and the whole void is full of infinite worlds like stars and suspended dust, which is also the view of Hinayana. (2) Hell of mentality: According to mentality, hell is not a place and heaven is not a place. Because of the karma of all beings, each has its own position. How do you say this? All existing laws are not necessarily physical, directional or material. For example, our consciousness is real, but it has no form, no direction and no matter. Everything in the category of mentality is the same. Therefore, although the six sentient beings really exist, they do not necessarily have shape, orientation and essence. But psychologically, the wheel of karma has six parts. Now many people don't understand this statement. Their idea is that since there is hell, there should be its place. In fact, there are many real things that don't necessarily have shapes and positions. For example, each of us has pain and happiness. We can ask others, "Are you in pain? Are you happy? " When they answer, we can also ask them again: "Then where is your pain? Where is happiness? " They may answer, "I feel it myself." Then, we continue to ask them: "What about your feelings?" As we all know, our feelings exist, but there is no real body, no specific direction and no tangible material visible. We just have a feeling that no one has really seen it. This is the hell of mentality. Many things in our consciousness, such as our sufferings and joys, are just thoughts and conscious feelings. In fact, all six ways have different pains, and those pains are also ideological feelings. Although the six feelings are different in the same body, they are all people. Because of the different karmic feelings, they can also have six different mentalities, and the person who is happy in his heart is heaven. Asura is a grumpy, aggressive and belligerent person; Bitter and bittersweet people are all human; People with mental retardation are animals; People who are insatiable and hungry are hungry ghosts; Only people who are miserable but not happy live in hell. Mahayana Buddhism holds the view that everything is empty and everything is false, and Mahayana Buddhism thinks that hell is a kind of "mentality". Many people think that "heaven and hell are all fictional." This is the "mentality" theory. Although the existence of hell is still a mystery to many people, psychologically speaking, heaven and hell are not elsewhere, but in our own hearts. Geographically, hell is real. There is hell in the deep underground, but we can't see it in different Witz spaces, just as fish in the water can't see the exotic flowers and grasses on the top of the mountain. Just as people at the top of the mountain can't see everything under the mountain, people at the bottom of the mountain can't see everything under the mountain, let alone the underground hell, and we can't even see the hair growing on our heads; We can't even see the signal of the common mobile phone in our hands, so what we can't see with our eyes doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
