Jiulongpo District is under the jurisdiction of Chongqing, located in the southwest of Chongqing, in the central city of Chongqing's main metropolitan area, and is an important part of Yuzhong Peninsula surrounded by the Yangtze River and Jialing River. Make good use of the integration effect of cultural tourism in economic circle and focus on the construction of twin-city economic circle in Chengdu-Chongqing area.

Jiulongpo District borders Yuzhong District, Shapingba District, dadukou district, Bishan District and jiangjin district, and faces Nan 'an District and Banan District across the river. The jurisdiction is 36.12km long from north to south, 30.4km wide from east to west and covers an area of 432km. It governs 19 towns and streets (9 streets, 10 towns).

In August 2020, Jiulongpo District governed nine streets, namely Yangjiaping Street, Xiejiawan Street, Shipingqiao Street, Huangjueping Street, Shiqiaopu Street, Yuzhou Road Street, Zhongliangshan Street, Erlang Street and Jiulong Street, as well as Huayan, Yi Baishi, Xipeng, Tongguan Station, Tao Jia, Zouma, Hangu, Baffo, Jin Feng and Shibanyao.
