129 Movement Speech! ! !
Comrades:
Today we hold a meeting to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the "December 9th Movement". The hall is full of young people full of vitality. What a lively gathering this is! The conference to commemorate the "129" has been held more than once in Yan'an. I have not been able to attend the past few times. I am very excited to attend today.
I think things are better handled in China now. What's going on in China? They are two things: anti-imperialism and anti-dark forces. Imperialism and dark forces, the Chinese people have been rebelling for a hundred years since the Opium War. It took a long time, and although it has not been completed yet, it is much easier to handle now. Because the Kuomintang die-hards have greatly intensified their anti-Japanese activities and attacked the progressive cultural circles, some people now say that things in China are difficult to handle. They work hard for progress and for the interests of the country and the nation. They are full of enthusiasm and good intentions, and they want to improve the country and the nation. However, at the critical juncture of the Anti-Japanese War, they saw the shadow of surrender, division, and regression cast by the stubborn forces around them. Their efforts were subject to various restrictions and oppression, and they could not help but feel that things were difficult to handle. This is just looking at one side of things. Of course, we firmly oppose the perverse actions of the die-hards, but in terms of the overall situation, we believe that compared with the past, things in China are not only not difficult to handle, but also easier to handle.
Why? This has to start with the December 9th Movement that we commemorate today.
First, comrades all know what the December 9th Movement was. However, we should further understand: In what political environment did it arise? What political significance does it have? What impact does it have on Chinese politics? If you understand these problems, you will know that the situation in China is very different from that in the past. Things are not more difficult to handle now than in the past, but much easier to handle than in the past.
After a long march of thousands of miles, the Red Army arrived at Wuqi Town in northern Shaanxi in October 1935. At that time, the enemy was still attacking us. In late November of that year, we won three victories in Fu County. Amidst the congratulations, on December 10th, when we heard the news of the December 9th Movement in Peking, we felt so happy! The Red Army comrades completed such a great Long March, and the student comrades launched such a great national salvation movement in Peking. Both were struggles to liberate the nation and the people, and their direct significance was to promote the Anti-Japanese War. Therefore, historically speaking, the December 9th Movement was a very important aspect of preparations for the Anti-Japanese War.
Some people say that the December 9th Movement is inferior to the May Fourth Movement, that is to say, the former is not as politically significant as the latter. Is this right? wrong. We think the meaning of both is equally great.
The May Fourth Movement prepared for the Northern Expedition. Without the May Fourth Movement, the Northern Expedition would have been unthinkable. Some people think that the student movement has no power, but what is the reality? The May 4th Movement of the broad masses of students promoted the anti-imperialist and anti-traitorous government struggles of the June 3rd nationwide strikes, market strikes, and class strikes, and developed into a national movement. After the May 4th Movement, the Communist Party of China was born, promoted the first Kuomintang cooperation, launched the May 30th Movement, launched the Northern Expedition, and created the first great revolution. Then, it is obvious that without the May Fourth Movement, the first great revolution would not have been possible. The May 4th Movement indeed prepared public opinion, people's hearts, minds, and cadres for the First Great Revolution.
As for the December 9th Movement, it was preparation for the great Anti-Japanese War, just like the May Fourth Movement was preparation for the first great revolution. "129" promoted the "July 7th" Anti-Japanese War and prepared for the "July 7th" Anti-Japanese War.
Let’s take a look at the circumstances under which the December 9th Movement took place. On the one hand, it was carried out in the Kuomintang-controlled areas where the Communist Party was considered to have absolutely no power and was absolutely illegal. During the Kuomintang reactionaries' war to "suppress the Communist Party", it was carried out under the dual-pronged military "encirclement and suppression" and cultural "encirclement and suppression" campaigns. occurred under circumstances. It goes without saying that the Communist Party and the Red Army were in a difficult situation in the past so-called "suppression of communism" wars. Later, the Red Army went on a long march, covering 25,000 miles. People behind them also "sent off" for another 25,000 miles. In addition, there were "welcomes" in front, and "gifts" were added in the sky. This gift It's called a bomb. Although those who "welcomed" saw each other off at each stop and those who "welcomed" greeted each other at each stop, the Red Army still reached northern Shaanxi. But the enemy still used bullets as gifts and sent them back and forth. This means that when the Red Army arrived in northern Shaanxi, it was still in an environment of "encirclement and suppression".
This is the situation of military "encirclement and suppression". What about cultural “encirclement and suppression”? The enemy's "bunkers" are built in schools, books, newspapers, magazines, and social, cultural and educational groups, and they also have a strong tendency to "attack steadily and step by step." Regarding this point, we only need to look at Mr. Lu Xun’s mixed feelings to know. His militant essays criticizing current ills were against cultural "encirclement and suppression" and the oppression of young people's ideas. On the other hand, Japanese imperialism has occupied Northeast China, is brewing the "specialization of North China", and is actively preparing to destroy all of China. Therefore, all 450 million people must work together to fight Japanese imperialism. However, some people disagree. However, they also want to fight, but who will they fight? He is a Communist Party member, a young student, and a progressive person in the cultural world. The people across the country told them: You are attacking in the wrong direction, and we are firmly opposed to it. This is another aspect of the environment surrounding the December 9th Movement. After the December 9th Movement, things gradually became easier to handle. The Xi'an Incident was peacefully resolved. The Kuomintang government's approach of attacking only the Communist Party and not Japanese imperialism was no longer feasible. It had to abandon the policy of "suppressing the Communists" and take the road of preparing for the war of resistance. This opened the Kuomintang's Third Middle School. At the Plenary Session, the Anti-Japanese National United Front was in fact declared established. For these, the achievements of the December 9th Movement are very great.
While we are still young
Friends, when the wheel of time reaches today, when the calendar clearly shows that December 9 is good, as young people, I I believe that none of us will forget this day, December 9
December 9
An ordinary but extraordinary day
Time goes back
Back to 1935
The sun is still lazy
The winter is still cold and desolate
But But the air was flowing rapidly
Because
An earth-shattering event happened in Peiping, the hometown of history
For The general student movement was launched against capitulation and oppression
Slogans were everywhere
Floating paper sheets were everywhere
Flags were waving everywhere
p>
There are roaring slogans everywhere
There are young people boiling with blood everywhere
This day
The white clouds are surging
The sea roared for it
The Yellow River and the Yangtze River roared for it
The land of China trembled for it
Because
a ravaged and unyielding nation
p>
Awakening
A country in troubled times
Fighting
We will not forget, will not forget this day, sixty On this day nine years ago: We will never forget, nor will we forget those respectable and lovely young people who shouted slogans and distributed leaflets under the terror of the enemy, without hesitation to throw their heads and blood.
It was they who raised their arms and shouted at the critical moment of the country's survival, prompting the reactionaries to compromise.
It is they who shed their blood in the slightest moment of the life and death of the nation and promoted the awakening of the nation.
They are admirable and lovely young people. With their practical actions, they have demonstrated the passion and pride of youth, and with their fearless courage, they have interpreted the meaning of youth.
We will never forget them, those respectable and lovely young people. They are the saviors of the nation and the pioneers of the Chinese nation.
So, friends, when we are young and frivolous in our youth, what kind of actions should we use to interpret the meaning of youth?
How should Chinese college students in the peace of the 21st century show their youthful elegance?
In this regard, I just want to say two words "effort"
Perhaps we will say disdainfully, 'Now is a peaceful era, there is no need to make a big contribution. And if you work hard all day, you will be very tired.
Perhaps we will say sadly, "Life is short, and we can only have a few youths in our life. Why should we not spend our best youth so monotonously?
Yes. Ah! Life is short, and life is only once. How short is youth? Why do we need to work hard all day long to achieve our goals?
But, friends, do we really want this? Do we really hope that when we are old, we can only look back at the photo albums of our youth? That monotonous, bitter and meaningless youth?
Do we really want to spend our youth happily but mediocrely, and then spend the rest of our lives mediocrely? Yes, I believe that no sensible and passionate young college student will want to live a mediocre life. We all long for the realization of our ideals and the publication of our youth.
Then. , friends, work hard while we are still young.
Youth is capital, youth is ability, and youth is everything.
Friends, don’t hesitate so much. No matter how hesitant we are, don’t slow down our young pace and move forward bravely and persistently. There is a bright future ahead.
Friends, work hard. The world belongs to us while we are still young. The future belongs to us.
