Characteristics and uses of advertising slogans

Advertising slogan, also known as slogan, is a short text used for advertising and is often impressive. It can be a short sentence or an article of several lines. It is often regarded as an important factor in determining product impression when marketing products.

Advertising slogans are usually very short and may not be legally recognized for copyright registration.

Article 9, Paragraph 1, Paragraph 3 of the Copyright Law of the Republic of China stipulates: "The following items shall not be the subject matter of copyright: 3. Slogans and general symbols, nouns, formulas, numerical tables, forms, books Or calendar."[1], and there are slogans that do not become judicial precedents[2].

Even if the relevant laws do not expressly provide for it, a short slogan may be deemed to lack creativity and shall not be used as a work. There has been a case in Japan where traffic safety slogans in five, seven, and five tunes were recognized as works [3].

Article 5 of the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China stipulates [4]: ??“This Law does not apply to: (1) laws, regulations, resolutions, decisions, orders of state agencies and other legislative , administrative and judicial documents, and their official official translations; (2) Current affairs news; (3) Calendars, general tables of numbers, general tables and formulas. "The regulations do not involve slogans.
