Xinzheng City is a new first-tier city. Xinzheng City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, the capital of Henan Province. It is the hometown of Xuanyuan Huangdi, the founder of Chinese humanities, and is located in the hinterland of the Central Plains. It is the southern new city of Zhengzhou City and Zhengzhou Airport Area. Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone, the core component, is adjacent to the central city of Zhengzhou to the north, Yuzhou City and Changge City to the south, Zhongmu County and Weishi County to the east, and Xinmi City to the west. During the Emperor Ku era, Xinzheng was the country of the Zhu Rong clan. Xinzheng, also known as Zhurong's Ruins, is also known as Youxiong's Ruins. It is the earliest place of origin for the ancestors of the Chu State. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, Xinzheng was the country of Xi. In 770 BC, the State of Zheng moved its capital from Xianlin to the Qinmei River in present-day Xinzheng, which was still called Zheng. In 395 years, it was called Zheng. During the Warring States Period, South Korea moved its capital to Xinzheng and changed Zheng County to Xinzheng County, which has remained unchanged for thousands of years.

The Han Dynasty inherited the Qin system and belonged to Henan County. Xingyang County was established in the Jin Dynasty, and Yuanling County was established in Xinzheng. In the Eastern Wei Dynasty, Guangwu County was established, and Yuanling belonged to Guangwu County. In the Sui Dynasty, Xinzheng was restored, and Yuanling was later abandoned and moved into Xinzheng County, still belonging to Xingyang County. The Tang Dynasty was divided into two counties: Xinzheng and Qingchi, and later Qingchi County returned to Xinzheng. Xinzheng County was established after the Five Dynasties. In May 1994, with the approval of the State Council, the county was removed and a city was established, and it was renamed Xinzheng City, which belongs to Henan Province and is managed by Zhengzhou City.
