How old is the Chinese militia?

There is no limit on the number of years of service of Chinese militiamen, but the maximum age must not exceed 35 years old.

The militia is divided into basic militia and ordinary militia. Soldiers who have retired from active service and personnel who have undergone military training under the age of 28, as well as personnel selected to participate in military training, are organized into basic militia organizations. The remaining male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 who are eligible for military service are organized into ordinary militia organizations. The female militia is only composed of basic militiamen, and the number is controlled within an appropriate proportion. For units with special circumstances in land and sea border areas, ethnic minority areas and cities, the age of the core militiamen may be appropriately relaxed. Militia members must be physically sound and politically reliable personnel.

The Chinese militia is a mass armed force under the leadership of the Communist Party of China that is not divorced from production. It is an integral part of the armed forces of the People's Republic of China and the assistant and reserve force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
