Why did the ancients say that "people should stand on their own feet and achieve their own goals"?

This sentence comes from the Analects of Confucius. Among them, "establishing people" refers to helping others and letting others stand on their own feet; "Talent" means that through hard work, you gain social recognition and you can support your family.
