I believe everyone must be curious about the Huangge Ancient Road in Chongqing. This ancient road is the most famous in Chongqing, so since I have come to Chongqing, I have to take a trip anyway! (1) One is Luojiaba near Sheraton Nanbin Road, which is also the earliest Haitangxi Wharf. Then cross Haitang West Street, climb along Dunhou Slope, and finally enter Huangge Ancient Road.

(2) Located on the predecessor road of Shangxin Street, climb the stairs until you meet the hiking trail before Laojun Cave, and finally enter the Huangge Ancient Road.

(3) At the entrance of the Second Hospital: Take bus No.320 to the Port Hospital Station, and the entrance is near the bus station (Haitangxi entrance 10 minute).

(4) Li Jiangshan entrance: Take bus No.376 to Haitangxi Station. The entrance of the ancient road is next to the gate of Li Jiangshan Community next to Jiangnan Gymnasium.

Hiking route

Now, the "Huangge Ancient Road" still starts from Shangxin Street and Haitangxi, and the two lines are "human"-shaped. The one on the left is located in Shangxin Street (left front road), and the one on the right is located in Haitang Creek (near Jiangnan Gymnasium).

For the convenience of description, the two trails of Shangxin Street Huangge Ancient Road and Haitangxi Huangge Ancient Road are called Left Road and Right Road respectively.

The upper end is Huangjueya Main Street, also known as "Huangjueya Old Street".

The Huangge Ancient Road has three entrances in Haitang Creek, and the lowest entrance is at Yanyu Road, Nanbin Road. Follow the trail to Haitangxi New Street (highway), and then enter the trail at the gate of the Second Hospital. In addition, there is an entrance next to the Li Jiangshan community.

I. Entrance of Haitang River

The entrance of Haitang River in Huangge Ancient Road is on Yu Yan Road, near Nanbin Road. Bus 872 is near the intersection of Hayes.

Follow the steps to Haitangxi New Street, turn left and walk along the road. Go to the bus stop, near the hospital station, across the road, and there is another entrance to the Second Hospital.

B, at the gate of the second hospital

The entrance of the Second Hospital of Huangge Ancient Road is in Haitang West Street. Near the port hospital station. It takes less than 10 minutes from the entrance of Haitangxi to the entrance of the Second Hospital.

If you go to the port hospital station by bus, you can also take this as a starting point.

Up the steps, you will pass Haitangxi Primary School, and then up is a narrow lane leading to Dunhou Community.

C. Li Jiangshan entrance

There is also an entrance to Li Jiangshan community next to Jiangnan Gymnasium. You can take a bus to Haitangxi Bus Station.

The Huangge Ancient Road also has several entrances to Shangxin Street.

D. Shangxin Street entrance

Take the bus to Shangxin Street Bus Station, near Shangxin Street Turntable. Walking on the predecessor road, you can see a stone tablet on the roadside not far away, which reads the entrance of Shangxin Street on Huangge Ancient Road. However, you should continue to walk along the highway and then go up the slope.

On the left front road, go to Xinjie turntable for about 500 meters. On the left, there is an alley on the upper steps, that is, entering the Huang Jue Ancient Road (the road on the left).

This is the real path to the Huangge Ancient Road.

If you don't enter from here, you can continue to walk for dozens of meters along the left road ahead, or you can enter from the intersection of tourist schools along the path.

Dongyangjiashan pedestrian bridge

Continue along the front left road for two or three hundred meters, and you will pass under an overpass, that is Yangjiashan footbridge.

On the stone bridge is the Huang Jue ancient road (the right path) of Haitang Creek. Go up the bridge along the roadside steps and enter the right road up the mountain.

F. Secondary entrance of Huangge Ancient Road

Go ahead for 200 meters, which is about one kilometer around Xinjie Island. There is a step intersection under the viaduct (inner ring expressway), and there should be the word Huang Jue.

Shangxin Street Huang Jue Ancient Road (Left Road) starts from Shangxin Street Front Left Road;

Haitang Huang Jue Ancient Road (right road) has three entrances in Haitang Sea and two entrances in Shangxin Street.

On the left (Shangxin Street and Huangge Ancient Road), you can go up the mountain along the trail. The route is relatively simple, so I won't describe it.

Right Road (Huangge Ancient Road in Haitang Creek) is a little longer and more complicated. Let me introduce it again.

The three entrances of Haitang Creek meet in Dunhou Community.

The footbridge from Qianzuolu Dunhou Community to Yangjiashan is a gentle slope. There are many ancient bluestones in this section of the road, all of which are very long stones and have been uneven by years.

There used to be some families on both sides of this road, but now it has been demolished. Unfortunately, some of them were damaged during demolition and will never be seen again after reconstruction.

Have a chance to walk more.

It takes about 10 minutes from the gate of the Second Hospital to Shiqiao (Yangjiashan Pedestrian Bridge).

Cross the stone bridge and keep walking. After crossing the viaduct (inner ring expressway), I started climbing, and the steps were dense.

On the way up the mountain (when the left and right roads are about to meet), there is a narrow and steep step on the left leading to Laojun Cave.

There is a narrow ladder road leading to Laojun Cave on the left, which can be regarded as a branch of the ancient road and will cross the road on the left from the middle.

Not far ahead, I met a left path at the entrance of Shangxin Street.

After crossing the intersection of the left and right roads, go straight to the wide stone road step path.

It takes about 20 minutes to get here from Shangxin Street. It takes about 10 minutes to climb the stairs.

Pass through the tea pavilion and finally reach the upper end of Huangge Ancient Road, the main street of Huangjueya, that is, Huangjueya Old Street.

It takes about 40 minutes to climb the mountain from the entrance of Haitang River, and about 30 minutes from the entrance of Second Hospital or Li Jiangshan. It takes about 30 minutes to get here from Shangxin Street entrance (stone tablet). If you lack exercise at ordinary times, it may take an hour.

Huangjueya old street

Huangjueya Old Street, the official street name is Huangjueya Street. It is also named after cypress.

In 2008, the whole street was completed. Some old dangerous houses were demolished and rebuilt, and many of them were decorated with external walls. A considerable number of houses have been changed into some distinctive facades, and some old houses have been restored, such as Sanmao and An's former residence, and some houses used by the Chamber of Commerce in those years. On the whole, it's good and worth visiting.

After going up the mountain from the ancient Huang Jue Road, there are many sightseeing options:

1. Visit Huangpi Old Street;

2. Go to the famous Taoist Laojun Cave;

3. Continue to climb the mountain and take the Wenfeng Tower Trail (there are also many former sites of the Republic of China in the nearby railway sanatorium);

4. Visit Tu Shan Lake (the old hot pot by the lake is very popular);

5. Visit the University of Posts and Telecommunications (cherry blossoms in spring and ginkgo trees in autumn are beautiful)

The old street is not long, and you can walk it in a few minutes, but you'd better enjoy it slowly.

In addition to the branch road of Huangge Ancient Road, you can also go to Laojun Cave halfway up the mountain. Before entering the old street, there is a fork in the road leading to Laojun Cave on the left side of the mountain. The Jade Emperor Hall, the highest point of Laojun Cave, is also a good place to enjoy the panoramic view of Chongqing.

From Huangjueya Old Street to Sanmao's former residence, according to the signs, you can take Wenfeng Pagoda Ancient Road, which can also be regarded as an extension of Huangge Ancient Road. Climb to the top of the mountain and you will find Wenfeng Tower.

Walking out of Huangjueya Old Street, Tushan Lake is on the left across the road, which is a good place for leisure. On the right is the University of Posts and Telecommunications. Cherry blossoms in spring and ginkgo trees in autumn are all very good.

Besides the old street, there are many delicious foods there, and there is a food street next to it. The price is relatively affordable, and many students go there to eat. There is also one across the street.
