University uselessness theory

I have only heard that excavators are better, but I have never heard of aesthetics.

Therefore, we need to offer various humanities courses in universities to cultivate students' aesthetic ability, critical thinking ability, ability to intervene in society and responsibility.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory. I want to go to the National Southwest Associated University during the Anti-Japanese War. Many college students don't want to study. They said that our peers are all soldiers and should all go to war. It's no use going to college. Mr. Qian Mu stopped them and said earnestly that the war would always pass. Our country must be built, rejuvenated, strong and have a future. Our study can't be interrupted, and neither can yours.

At that time, in order to encourage students to study, Mr. Qian completed the famous work "Outline of National History" under extremely difficult conditions. On the title page of this book, there is a big word printed impressively: I would like to dedicate this book to the millions of soldiers in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression!

At that time, Wuhan University invited Mr. Qian Mu to give a lecture. There are frequent Japanese planes bombing outside, so Mr. Qian's class time can only be scheduled from six to eight in the morning. At that time, the wires were burnt out, and the students took torches to light the road and went to Mr. Qian's class in the dark. Usually, at the first light of the morning, the torches are burning and all the seats are occupied, so those who are late can't get in. This is the fire of knowledge, the fire of hope and the fire of university spirit.

I really admired the university at that time. Students listen to a history lesson with torches, or sit in the corner and listen to a novel history silently. They never care whether a thing is "useful" or "useless", but only care about love and persistence.

Some people say what is education? Education is what remains when a person forgets everything he learned at school. In other words, one day, you may forget the specific course you learned today and return it to the teacher. But one thing must not be forgotten or deleted, because it has penetrated into your blood and into your bone marrow. When running, it helps you; When you succeed, it cheers for you; When you fail, it will support you. It is the mind, temperament and courage that the university brings to you. This is the mystery of "uselessness".
