Answers to Aesop's fables about flies and bees

Conversation between flies and bees

One day, a fly was flying and suddenly saw a bee collecting honey in front of it. So the following conversation took place between flies and bees.

Fly: Hum. Hello, Miss Bee! Can I help you pick honey for a while?

Bee: Go, go! Smelly fly, this is none of your business. To collect your excrement. Bah!

Fly: I said, Miss Bee, don't be so angry! I'm not angry that you scold me. But you don't know that we are actually family.

Bee: Nonsense! You are a fly and I am a bee. We are not related to each other by blood. How can we belong to the same family?

Fly: Ha. You don't know! We all belong to Insecta, you belong to Hymenoptera, we belong to Diptera, and we are like cousins. You have to call me cousin. You see, we are much alike, both in shape and appearance! No wonder the French call you a "honey fly" (note 1). Do you know that?/You know what?

Bee: No, no, we are very different. You see how noble our profession is, while yours is dirty.

Fly: It's not our fault, dear Miss Bee! We like fragrance and sweetness, too, but the noble occupation of honey picking has been occupied by you, leaving us with only the low job of collecting excrement. We also have the right to live. Is it our fault to make a living without nectar and shit?

Bee: But we have brought fragrance and sweetness to mankind, while you have brought diseases and plagues to mankind! You see, because we have made contributions to the host, the host cares about us, gives us a greenhouse in winter and sends us to travel to the suburbs in summer. In spring, let's pick rape flowers and Chinese milk vetch and fly over the vast Yuan Ye to see the beautiful scenery. Isn't it because our bees are more valuable than your flies? And you can only keep company with the owner's toilet. Didn't the host say, "It's not strange to freeze flies"?

Fly: Oh, oh. You objectively collect honey for yourself. It is not our subjective intention to spread germs. It is bacteria that touch our food, not that we actively look for bacteria. Besides, the world doesn't just belong to human beings. We can't judge the self-worth of various creatures in nature by human likes and dislikes. As a part of nature, we also have our own existence value. You are indeed warmly received by your host family, because they are.

Bee: Ah! I really didn't think of it!

Fly: Yes, although we wear dazzling gold coats and try our best to improve our image and not attack human beings, we still can't escape the tragic situation of everyone shouting and beating. You are plain and have needles, but you are often praised. Our Spanish brother was taken away by human beings, made into drugs, and stimulated human lust after death. Our brothers sacrificed their lives heroically for the happiness of mankind, but our ugly reputation still exists.

Bee: That's true! Mr. Fly, I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for you. But you are too stupid to compare with the cleverness of our bees! We follow our master's preferences, live, eat, drink and be merry, and live comfortably. You don't know how to fly along the light, but you do the opposite. You accidentally broke into the house looking for the toilet, and then flew around, never looking at where the lights were and where the doors and windows were. The exit should always be a bright place.

Fly: Yes, you bees always follow logic, but we flies often ignore routines. But, dear Miss Bee, do you know a true story? One day, two American scientists did an experiment in the laboratory. They put your six brothers and sisters and our six brothers and sisters in two glass bottles respectively, then opened the bottles and put them upside down. As a result, your six brothers and sisters acted according to logic, thinking that the exit was always in the bright direction, so they kept hitting the bottom of the glass bottle until they were exhausted and all died. But our six brothers and sisters acted contrary to logic, flying around and running around, all of them escaped from the glass bottle and were reborn. This is stupid intelligence, and intelligence is mistaken for intelligence! When you are used to long-term logical thinking, have you ever thought that common sense is sometimes unreasonable? When external conditions such as time and environment change, what is reasonable will become unreasonable. Although you are now spoiled, pampered and praised by your master, you are complacent and self-satisfied. If one day, once your master discovers that you also have some kind of bacteria and virus or the honey you collect contains some harmful substances, his honey will not be sold, and your fate will be even worse than ours. People will stop eating your honey, and your master will kill you as a pest. Because you are used to human conservation, you lack the will and ability to survive for a long time like our flies. Your prosperity and reputation depend on people's attitude towards you. From this point of view, aren't you bees more stupid than us flies?

Bee: Ah! Oh, my God!
