Lance Barton (chris rock), the protagonist of the story, is an unfortunate comedian. He is always unlucky. One day, he was hit by a sudden bus, and Lance died on the spot. When Lance came to the gate of heaven after his death, he found that he was taken back to heaven before his death because of his wrong schedule and wrong instructions.

At this time, God is not ready to meet him, and God has not arranged his position. At the same time, Lance longed for human life and wanted to return to the world, so he returned to the world under the arrangement of death. But there is a problem.
