What is the connotation and taste of Shandong culture?

As a Northeastern who has lived in Heilongjiang for more than 20 years, I have always had special feelings for Shandong, because my ancestral home is Heze City, Shandong Province. Although I have never been to Shandong, I have my own understanding of the connotation and taste of Shandong culture.

First of all, I think the most indispensable thing in Shandong culture is pioneering and indomitable spirit. I believe many people have seen the TV series "Crossing the East". In that special era, many Shandong people had to choose to go north because of hunger and poverty. Because it is the same at home, they have a deep understanding. It's not that they don't love their hometown, but the indomitable spirit in their bones makes Shandong people choose to seek new survival opportunities. It is hard to travel long distances, but they still come to this rich black land with unique tenacity and struggle for survival and life.

Secondly, there is a unique connotation in Shandong culture, that is "stubbornness". They are not as clever and flexible as southerners. When people in Shandong look for something, they often give people a feeling of "going all the way to black". Maybe you will think this is a useless stubbornness, but I just think that it is this stubbornness that gives Shandong people a unique charm. Many times, we just give up halfway because of the lack of such spirit.

Finally, the most important thing in Shandong culture is generosity and loyalty. I believe that the Water Margin is no stranger to everyone in China. This is the story that happened in Liangshan, Shui Bo, Shandong. One hundred and eight people take the mountain as the king and do anything for their brothers. Although these rebellious heroes are reckless and rude, they have achieved a real style. They drink too much, eat large pieces of meat, and are heroic.
