The five fruits that can't be dedicated to Buddha and Bodhisattva are pomegranate, tomato, black date, durian and sugarcane. In fact, there are still many fruits that can't be used for offering Buddha. It stands to reason that fruits that can't be used for Buddha's worship can't be used for Buddha's worship, nor can fruits with peculiar smell, sludge or mildew be used for Buddha's worship, nor can incomplete, spoiled and hairy fruits be used for Buddha's worship. These are all disrespect for the Buddha.

What's the point of offering Buddha fruit?

Fruit is often used to worship Buddha and Bodhisattva, but it is also the most problematic, that is, fruit support.

1, seasonal fruit

A basic requirement of fruit support is to provide "fresh fruit" and follow the season, not something out of season. We have watermelons and strawberries all year round now. You won't be angry if the season is wrong.

In addition to the nutrition we can see, its skin and meat, there is another thing, that is, the vast universe, the operation of the whole time and space, and a movement of our earth in the solar system, which is not available.

Even if it is green, it will be familiar. This is the difference between religion and the public.

2. Choose auspicious fruits.

Choose fresh fruits when offering fruits, preferably some fruits with auspicious meanings, such as apples, bananas and oranges.

(1) Apple: Apple has the meaning of peace. It is dedicated to apples and prayed to the gods to protect the family's safety;

(2) Banana: Banana is golden in color, and its two ends are bent a bit like a gold ingot. When offering sacrifices, pray that you can make a lot of money;

(3) Oranges: Oranges are auspicious;

(4) Peach: Peach means longevity. On March 3rd, Xi Wang Mu, a Taoist fairy, held a flat peach banquet in Yaochi. The flat peach is a symbol of longevity.

Generally speaking: when we can't tell, then don't provide some fruits that are obviously out of season.

3. The offerings should be clean.

In addition, the fruits of washing offerings must be clean, and some may have plastic outside, because it is for the gods to enjoy. It's like having a guest at home, you have to open it and give it to the guest. Pay attention to this.

In terms of quantity, it is usually a single plate, such as three, five, seven and nine, all of which are singular. Usually apples, oranges and oranges are served in five plates, and the larger ones, such as pitaya and pineapple, are generally three.

Larger ones, such as watermelons, are usually one. Large fruits like watermelons are not used for cutting, they must be complete. Of course, what we have eaten and bitten cannot be offered to God.

Can't offer the fruit of Buddha and Bodhisattva

However, some fruits are not allowed to be offered to gods, such as pomegranate, tomato and black date, and some fruits with strange smell or sludge, such as durian and sugarcane.

For example, pomegranate passes through feces, birds eat it, and finally pull out feces. It must go through such a process to grow, so it is unclean.

Pears are reserved for lonely souls in the wild. The old gentleman in Taishang is one of the ancestors of Taoism and one of the three statues of the sky, because the old gentleman is surnamed Li. In order to avoid its anonymity, durian can't serve because of its peculiar smell.
