Qu Yuan, a native of Zigui (now Yichang, Hubei Province), is a descendant of Qu Xian, the son of Xiong Tong. During the period of Chu Huaiwang, Qu Yuan was a disciple of Chu Huaiwang (Xiong Xin). After seeing it, Shanxi merchants wanted to keep it for themselves, but Qu Yuan refused to give it to him. Shanxi merchants spoke ill of Qu Yuan in front of Chu Huaiwang: "Your Majesty, everyone knows that you asked Qu Yuan to make laws. Every time he issued a decree, Qu Yuan boasted about his achievements and said,' No one can do it except me'. " After listening to this, Chu Huaiwang became very angry and alienated Qu Yuan.

Qu Yuan deeply felt that the king could not tell right from wrong, that flattery blinded the wise, and that a gentleman was not tolerated by the court, so he wrote his own experience as Li Sao. The so-called "Li Sao" means suffering. Qu Yuan insisted on justice, was an honest and frank person, was loyal to the king, and did his best. However, he was angered by the villain and was in an extremely embarrassing situation. How can you be doubted by the king because of your sincerity to the country and slandered by the villain because of your loyalty to the Lord? Qu Yuan wrote Li Sao to express this grief and indignation.

In 3 13 BC, the State of Qin would send troops to attack the State of Qi. At that time, Qi and Chu had an alliance treaty. Qin Huiwang was very worried about this, so he sent Zhang Yi to pretend to leave the State of Qin and came to Chu with a generous gift to show his reconciliation. He said: "Qin hates Qi very much, but Qi and Chu have an alliance treaty. If Chu can break diplomatic relations with Qi, then Qin is willing to give up 600 miles here. " Because Zhang Yi was greedy for land, she trusted him and broke off relations with Qi.

Knowing that he had been cheated, he flew into a rage and sent troops to attack Qin. Qin sent troops to meet the enemy, and defeated the Chu army in Danshui and Xishui, killing 80,000 people. In 299 BC, Qin and Chu became enemies, but the two countries were related by marriage. King Qin Zhao invited Chu Huaiwang to meet at Wuguan.

Both Qu Yuan and Zhao Sui advised Chu Huaiwang not to go, thinking that Qin was a country of tigers and wolves and could not be trusted. Zilan, Chu Huaiwang's youngest son, advised Wang Huai to go, thinking that Qin had nothing to fear. You know, Chu Huaiwang has been cheated by Yi Cheung twice. Because Qu Yuan wrote ci fu, saying that Chu Huaiwang was deceived by Zheng Xiu at home, cheated by Zhang Yi outside, alienated Qu Yuan, and trusted Doctor Shangguan and Ling Zilan. As a result, the army was defeated, and the guest died in Qin, which was laughed at by the whole world.

Yin flew into a rage and asked Shangguan doctor to speak ill of Qu Yuan to Xiang Wang. When Xiang Wang got angry, he exiled Qu Yuan. In 278 BC, the state of Qin captured Ying capital, the king of Chu fled, and Qu Yuan's hope of returning to politics was dashed. In extreme depression and despair, Qu Yuan wrote Huai Sha, and threw himself into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is said that the Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate Quyuan's throwing himself into the river.

Throughout Qu Yuan's life, he tried to serve the country, but failed. It stands to reason that he can leave Chu and go to other countries for politics. However, unlike other politicians, Qu Yuan went to work in other countries when he was frustrated at home. Qu Yuan loves his motherland. Even though he drowned himself in the river, he never left his hometown. This patriotism is commendable.

Qu Yuan threw himself into the river, and I felt sorry for him. The king of Chu is so fatuous that mud can't help the wall. I don't think it's worthwhile for Qu Yuan to throw himself into the river. He couldn't save Chu by throwing himself into the river, so he had to sacrifice his life in vain. It is better to end your life with the determination to die than to live as a hermit.
