This couplet in Qin Keqing's room is full of sexual hints, and Baoyu enters the door.
According to the original text, this couplet is not isolated. It hangs on both sides of the Tang Bohu Begonia Spring Sleeping Map, and forms a whole with it, which is the most conspicuous position in Qin Keqing's room. As can be seen from the following, this is actually the entrance to the dreamland. Seeing Baoyu's reaction, he felt sleepy as soon as he entered the door, and his bones were soft.
According to the original text, the author of this couplet is Qin Taixu, that is, Qin Guan, a writer and poet in the Northern Song Dynasty. There are two famous sentences in his most famous poem "Que Qiao Xian", which have been passed down through the ages.
Qin Guan, whose words are too vague, is one of the four bachelor's degrees in Su Men, which is very appreciated by Su Shi. In the eighth year of Yuanfeng (1085), he was a scholar, twelve years younger than Su Shi. Qin Guan has a close relationship with Su Shi, especially the love story between Qin Guan and Su Shi's sister Su Xiaomei is widely circulated. In "Awakening the World" by Feng Menglong, a writer in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, there is a story of "Su Xiaomei's three difficulties in getting married".
Of course, this is not the first time that Qin Guan has appeared in the Red Chamber. In Jia Yucun's mouth, Qin Guan was called "Qin Shaoyou", but this time it was called "Qin Taixu". Obviously, this is done by Cao Gong on purpose, because the word "too empty" vaguely reflects the "too empty dreamland" and clearly tells the world that Baoyu will enter the too empty dreamland.
Not only that, Qin Taixu shared the same surname as Qin Keqing, but in the later dreamland, there appeared a sister with a beautiful name and beautiful handwriting. Tsao Gong showed Qin Taixu here, which seemed to imply Qin Keqing and its relationship with Taixu Dreamland.
Let's talk about the origin of this couplet first. Many researchers in later generations pointed out that Huaihai Ji, which collected all the poems of Qin Guan's life, did not have the saying that "tenderness locks dreams". Moreover, couplets prevailed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and were extremely rare in the Northern Song Dynasty, so it is untenable to say that this pair of couplets is owned by Qin Guan. There is only one explanation. This couplet was drafted by Cao Gong under the pretext of Qin Taixu, with two purposes. One is to insinuate Qin Keqing with the surname "Qin Taixu", and the other is to create a fragrance for Baoyu's next nap with this couplet. So as soon as Baoyu entered Qin Keqing's door, he felt his eyes soft and even said, "It smells good!"
In Qin Keqing's room, Tang Bohu's "Haitang Sleeping in Spring" and Qin Taixu's couplets actually appeared more than once. Once Baoyu wandered in the dreamland, and once Wen Baoyu followed Xifeng to see Qin Keqing's illness.
The eleventh time: Baoyu stared at the picture of Haitang sleeping in spring and the couplet written by Qin Taixu that "tender cold locks dreams because of spring cold, and the aroma cage is wine", and unconsciously remembered the dream of "dreamland" when sleeping here. It can be seen that the decoration in Qin Keqing's room was not written casually, but was deliberately set by Zuo Zongtang, on the one hand, to create an atmosphere and lure Baoyu to sleep. On the one hand, it also describes Qin Keqing's elegant life.
In addition, some versions mistake the "cage man" in the second half of the sentence of "the tender cold locks the dream because of the cold spring, and the fragrant cage is the fragrance of wine" for "attacking people". According to the rhyme and the meaning of couplets, it should be "cage man" There is no doubt that a "dream-locked" and a "cage man" clearly explained Baoyu's wandering in the dreamland.
In addition, there are some words in the original text, such as "Flower Hua Xiren", from which the name of Xiren comes. Baoyu's name for xiren comes from Happy Village written by Lu You, a patriotic poet in the Southern Song Dynasty. The whole poem is: Xiao Shanheng, Shi Mei, Hongqiao, Jiang Chun, Baitafan and Shui Sheng. The fragrance of flowers makes people know that it is suddenly warm, and the sound of magpies wearing trees makes people happy. The wine in the workshop is still drunk, and the mud in Master Yuan is still old. I like to be granted full office in advance, year after year, and no official knocks on Chai Jing.
When I read Baoyu's fantasy, I have a question. Qin Keqing led Baoyu to sleep. After Baoyu fell asleep, he was lectured by the police fairy and married Qin in his dream. For a long time, many people regard Ke Qing in Baoyu's dream and Qin Keqing in Ningfu as one person, but they are totally different.
Qin Keqing in Ningfu is Qin Keqing before certification, while Qin Keqing is rich and beautiful. Judging from the decoration of his room, he belongs to the romantic school, and there is a song "Qin Keqing mourns Tianxianglou" that goes hand in hand. His verdict is "boundless love is a fantasy in love, and when you meet it, you will be a prostitute." Also full of desire, this is the secular Qin Keqing.
Sorry, dreamland, she has a nice birth name. She is the sister of the police illusion. She was ordered by her sister to marry Baoyu in order to "let you enjoy this fairyland, not to mention the dusty scenery." I will explain everything in the future, change my previous feelings, pay attention to Confucius and Mencius, and devote myself to the economy. "
That is to say, the earthly Qin Keqing indulges in debauchery, while the ethereal dreamland is called Ke Qing, in order to make Baoyu jump out of debauchery and return to the right path. This is totally two people! One detail is that the earthly Ke Qingshi's surname is Qin Keqing, while the dreamland's Ke Qingshi did not mention this surname. I think Tsao Gong may have deliberately erased his surname here, in order to make us all mistakenly think that these two Ke Qing are the same person.
However, the two Ke Qing are not isolated people. Just like Jia Baoyu and Zhen Baoyu, they look completely different, but they look like two sides of a person, like a person looking in the mirror, like two sides of a mirror, which is romantic and illusory.
Back to Qin Taixu's couplets, there is a fat criticism after these two couplets. The fat criticism on the first couplet reads: Yan Ji, Yin Ji! There is a fat criticism in the second couplet: I entered a dream. From the criticism, we know that the appearance of this couplet is to describe the romantic atmosphere in Qin Keqing's room, which indicates Baoyu's sexual dream. On the other hand, it is not appropriate for Baoyu to rest in his niece's bed, but he had a spring dream and nocturnal emission in his niece's bed, which is related to Qin Keqing anyway. So the fat group said, "Yanji, Yin Ji!" Criticizing Ke Qing is not as good as criticizing couplets.
In fact, if you think about this couplet carefully, it describes such a picture. The first part of the couplet is a spring dream, and the second part is a rich boudoir environment, full of sexual hints. How can a 12-year-old boy like Baoyu hold it? Even though Tso did not arrange for Baoyu to dream in dreamland, he also saw the fate of Zhu Fang in advance. Today, sleeping in such an environment is inevitable, and so is wet dream.
I used to have a poor book to analyze whether Qin Keqing was suspected of seducing Baoyu. I can't help thinking when I come here to think about it. Qin Keqing should have got ready and led Baoyu to his room to sleep, otherwise he wouldn't have sent Baoyu to sleep so neatly.
To sum up, this pair of couplets in the room should not be written by Qin Guan, but by Zuo Zongtang's pseudonym, which is to expose and pave the way for the funeral of Tianxianglou in the later period. But Zuo Zongtang listened to Zhi Yanzhai and deleted this paragraph, which is a great regret in the literary world. In addition, Tso also used Baoyu's eyes to describe all kinds of romantic decorations in Qin Keqing's room, which is Qin Keqing's nature. At the same time, Baoyu's fugue is used to explain that he is "the first prostitute in the world".
Finally, open a brain hole. Looking at this pair of couplets repeatedly, my brain suddenly opened wide, and I combined the last word in the first and second couplets, which happened to be the word "Leng Xiang", and the name of the pill Xue Baochai took happened to be "Lengxiang Pill". Is Zuo Zongtang intentional or unintentional? Is this a coincidence? There are always strange stories outside the text of the Red Chamber. If you study them carefully, they are often of great significance, and you should not read them roughly.
