"Wangshu Poetry" and poetry writing
I am not a poet, nor do I have the talent to write poetry. My inability to write does not hinder my reading. I have read a few collections of poems by Xi Murong, Xu Zhimo, Dai Wangshu, and Wang Guozhen. By chance, I have also read a few thin collections of poems by Shelley and Tagore. As for some other scattered collections, I have read some of my poems, so I won’t report them one by one. If I talk too much, I will always feel like showing off. I don’t mean to show off, it’s true that I’m just trying to do what I know best, but when I think about it, it’s all for learning, I feel relieved. Since it is learning, there are always things that are appropriate and inappropriate. If something is inappropriate, you can just treat it as a joke.
I'm not a poet, I can't write poetry, maybe it's because the girl is too stupid. But no matter how stupid a girl is, she still has the right to become beautiful. "Reading poetry makes people beautiful." I wonder if I, who is stupid, can get a little bit of the poet's aura?
I found it very useful after reading "Wangshu Poetry Theory". But after all, I am not a poet, and have no say in "Poetry Theory". However, in line with the attitude of integrating theory with practice, I selected a few poems on poetry and compared them with my favorite poems. Only then did I feel that I had read them in a true sense. The hard work I put into writing this poem is not in vain.
"The combination of beautiful words alone is not the characteristic of poetry." My personal understanding is that poetry is the same as prose. To say something meaningful, the theme must be clear. Those beautiful words all serve this theme.
Don’t want? My beloved poet
will end up as a faceless
small grocery store
Nor do I want him to become ? An encyclopedia
respected by everyone
I only hope
that he can grow according to the requirements of life
and open himself up The flower? Bears its own fruit
Under the sun
Or grows into a pine? Grows into a cypress
Or? Grows into a tree
Swaying in the wind on the high rocky shore
Skinny wild lily
In Xi Murong’s song "My Wish", there are many beautiful words: "Pine , cypress, wild lily..." These beautiful images all serve a theme, that is, the poet must have his own characteristics. The author should write his own thoughts according to his own growth trajectory in life, and "bloom his own flowers and bear his own fruits." It doesn't matter whether you grow into a pine, a cypress, or a wild lily, the important thing is to be yourself.
"The rhythm of poetry is not in the cadence of the words, but in the cadence of the poem's emotions, that is, in the degree of poetry." In Dai Wangshu's own "Passing the Former Residence", the cadence of emotions is completely ignored. Of course, the rhythm of the poem itself is also excellent.
The silent window blocks the dusty happiness
The lonely warmth is saturated with the distant smoke
The strange voice is still the call of thawing
The tearful passer-by lived in the past for a moment
Judging from Wang Shu’s poem, he is not denying the beauty of the poem’s rhythm and language, but that “the fish and the bear’s paw are not the same” When "having both", the content of the poem should be given priority and the poetic sentiment should come first.
It is not necessary to use new things as themes (I am not opposed to using new things as themes), new poetry can also be found in old things.
Poetry is created from reality through imagination. It is not just reality, nor is it just imagination. Read Xu Zhimo's "Change and Immutability" (excerpt)
The leaves on the tree said: "Now things have changed again.
You see, some are heartbroken and some are heartbroken. Curled and burnt! "
"No," the answer was my own heart
It also faded and withered in the cold west wind.
Poetry should express its own emotions and make people feel something. The poem itself is like a living thing, not an inanimate thing.
Excerpt from "I don't know which direction the wind is blowing"
I don't know which direction the wind is blowing
I am in a dream
Heartbroken in the sorrow of dreams
"I write my heart with my hand", no matter how beautiful the image is, it will be boring without the true feelings. Wang Guowei said that "all scenery words are words of love", and only true feelings can move people. This is what Dai Wangshu's poetry theory wants to tell us.
The Symbolists said: "Nature is a whore who has been raped a thousand times." But the new whore has never been raped ten thousand times. The number of times you have been raped has nothing to do with it. We need new sexual tools and new methods.
For the poems written by Dai Wangshu, Xu Zhimo and others during this period of transition between old and new styles, we should make some changes based on our understanding to make the language clearer. I support this approach. For example, the song "Trouble" by Dai Wangshu originally looked like this:
It is said to be the melancholy of lonely autumn,
It is said to be the nostalgia of the distant sea.
If someone asked me the reason for my worries,
I would not dare to say your name.
I dare not say your name,
If someone asks me the reason for my worries:
It is said that it is the yearning for the distant sea,
It is said to be the melancholy of lonely autumn.
Those who are familiar with this poem will find it a little awkward, right? Because after more than eighty years of accumulation, the current version is as follows:
It is said to be the sadness of lonely autumn
It is said to be the lovesickness of the distant sea
If someone asks me about my worries
I don’t dare to say your name
I don’t dare to say your name
If someone asks about my worries Worry
Said to be the sorrow of lonely autumn
Said to be the lovesickness of the distant sea
Personally, I prefer the version circulating now.
