What did Adam and Eve mean by counting their ribs?

Khan, it was just a joke that Eve doubted whether Adam was having an affair.

Many times women always doubt their husbands. Adam came home late for several days, and Eve suspected that he was hanging out with other women.

"You are so unreasonable," Adam said, "You are the only woman in the world!" They continued to argue until they went to bed at night.
