There was a minister named Jiang Shang, also known as Jiang Ziya, under King Zhou. Seeing King Zhou's misbehavior, he abandoned his official position and lived in seclusion on the shores of the Wei River.

In order to attract Ji Chang's attention, Jiang Ziya sat by the Wei River "fishing" every day. Most people use curved hooks to fish, with bait hung on the curved hooks, and then put the fishhook into the water to trick the fish into taking the bait. But the fishhook Jiang Ziya used was straight, with no bait on it, and it was three feet high above the water. He raised the fishing rod high and said as he fished: "Fish, take the bait if you are willing!"
When Jiang Ziya was fishing by the water when he was seventy years old, he happened to meet Ji Chang who was hunting by the Weishui River. . Ji Chang had a very good conversation with him. King Wen knew that Jiang Shang had real talent, so he asked Jiang Shang to ride back with him.
After Jiang Ziya entered the court, he was named Taigong by Ji Chang. Ji Chang once asked Jiang Ziya: "How can we conquer the world?" Jiang Ziya said: "A kingdom of kings makes its people rich; a country of hegemons makes its scholars rich; the only remaining country makes its officials rich; a country of immorality makes its treasury rich. . This is called overflow and leakage."
Later, Jiang Ziya successively assisted King Wen and King Wu, overthrew the rule of King Zhou, and established the longest Zhou Dynasty in Chinese history.
