Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) has always had a hard time because he always deals with people with a negative "no, no" attitude. It was not until he took part in a self-help course that he swore under the pressure of his tutor Terrence that he could only say "yes" within one year, no matter who the other person was and what he was asked to do. To his surprise, when he began to practice his vows, his life changed incredibly.
