In recent years, social entrepreneurship has achieved certain results in eradicating poverty, solving employment problems, and improving the social environment in my country, and is expected to contribute more to solving the main social contradictions in the new era. In order to deeply understand the latest developments in social entrepreneurship in China and promote the healthy development of social entrepreneurship in my country, the China Social Entrepreneurship Research Center of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, in conjunction with relevant institutions, launched a special survey on social entrepreneurship, tracked the development status and existing problems of social entrepreneurship in China, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions. .

China’s social enterprises are growing rapidly, with more than 50 social enterprises established in the past five years. Under the trend of inclusive and sustainable development, social entrepreneurship has become an emerging force in solving social problems.

Characteristic 1: China’s social entrepreneurs are mainly young and middle-aged people with high education levels, and most of them have business backgrounds.

The survey shows that 92.3% of social entrepreneurs in my country have received higher education, of which 75% have received undergraduate education or above, 21% have received master’s degree or above, and are involved in commercial enterprises Compared with other groups, Chinese social entrepreneurs generally have higher academic qualifications, which to a certain extent shows that social entrepreneurial activities are extremely challenging and require social entrepreneurs to have sufficient knowledge and abilities to deal with complex social problems and balance economic and social goals. .

China’s social entrepreneur group is dominated by young and middle-aged people. The proportions under 30 years old, 30-39 years old, and 40-49 years old are 25.00, 38.71 and 27.82 respectively. The proportions of 50 years old and above are 8.47. This is The age distribution is roughly the same as that of the business entrepreneur group. It is worth noting that the proportion of women among social entrepreneurs is 38.3, which is significantly higher than the proportion of women in commercial entrepreneurship (according to the 10th Private Enterprise Survey, the proportion of female business entrepreneurs in my country is 16.3), indicating that women embody the Stronger social value orientation.
