The Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China is the country's legal procuratorial organ

1. The People’s Procuratorate is the national legal supervision agency of the People’s Republic of China, not the legal procuratorial agency.

2. The People’s Procuratorate completes its tasks by exercising state procuratorial power. It exercises procuratorial power over cases endangering national security, endangering public safety, cases infringing on citizens’ personal and democratic rights, and other major criminal cases; it reviews cases investigated by public security organs and decides whether to arrest, prosecute or exempt from prosecution ; Initiate and support public prosecutions in criminal cases; supervise whether the activities of public security organs, people's courts, prisons, detention centers, and reform-through-labour institutions are legal.

3. People’s Procuratorates at all levels are established corresponding to the People’s Courts at all levels to handle cases in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Law. Just like the people's courts independently exercise the state's judicial power, the people's procuratorates independently exercise procuratorial power in accordance with the law and are not subject to interference by any administrative agencies, social groups or individuals. All citizens are equal in the application of the law.
