Where is the silent marathon track?

The 2018 Wenchuan Marathon will start at 9:00 a.m. on May 13. It will start from Yingxiu Town in Wenchuan County, pass through the national highway to Xuankou Tunnel, and then pass through Shoujiang Bridge to Renji Ximugu (running Visitors can visit for free), pass through Chanshou Old Street in Shuimo Town, and finally arrive at the destination, Aba Normal College.

Wenchuan is a place of extraordinary significance. It was hit hard ten years ago. After ten years of reconstruction, the new Wenchuan today has a completely new look. Running here, every inch of the ground under your feet is flowing with love. In the Xuankou Tunnel section of the track, this 1.5-kilometer-long tunnel will be built into a silent track.

We hope that every runner, during this 1.5-kilometer journey, will not speak but speak as quietly as possible and remember in silence. 1.5 kilometers is not long, and it only takes 10 minutes to jog. There are many 10 minutes in life, and our running in Wenchuan can make these 10 minutes extra meaningful.

Silent track session

We will place yellow chrysanthemums at the entrance of the tunnel. Players can take them by themselves and run slowly with the chrysanthemums in hand. There is a memorial area on the right side of the middle section of the tunnel. Place your chrysanthemums down here and observe silence in memory.

Put down the chrysanthemum and keep running. The slogans on both sides will accompany the runners, "Although the journey is windy and rainy, we will walk with love" and "The silence in the darkness is only for the cry after the light"... Inspired by these powerful words, run out of the tunnel. What will greet you will be Wenchuan's local special programs carefully prepared by the organizing committee, with the most simple enthusiasm and the most fervent hope.
