Quoted from VeryCD:

1. How to play audio files in APE format?

A.Monkey's audio installation package comes with Winamp's ape plug-in. After installation, you can use Winamp to place Ape.

B use the recently popular foorbar2000 and support ape format.

2. Can I choose music at will when 2.APEImage is playing?

Yes, but you need a suitable prompt file. Generally, the whole CD is compressed into an APE file with the corresponding cue file, which records the information such as the start time of each track of this CD. You can open this cue file with text editing software, and the content is similar to the following:

==================

Performer "matthew lien"

Title "Blood Wolf"

File "cdimage.ape" wave

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The following is the corresponding ape file name, which is the same directory by default.

You can add a path, such as "c: musicdimmage.ape".

You can't make mistakes, otherwise it won't play normally.

Track 0 1 audio

Title "Flying Mouse Creek"

Performer "matthew lien"

Index 0 1 00:00:00

……

==================

A.foobar can directly import cue files, and as long as the information in cue is correct, you can select songs and play them.

B For winamp, it seems that it is impossible to import 2 directly. X becomes cue, but there is a solution. There is a tool in the audio of the monkey, the software for making ape (the installer has created a shortcut for it in the start menu), which can convert the cue file into several corresponding apl files, each apl corresponds to an audio track, winamp supports apl, and everything is ok.

C Install a winamp plug-in named mp3cue, which enables winamp to support cue files.

Note: According to my own experiment, if you want to use this plug-in normally, you should add a picture file in winamp playlist instead of adding a cue file in foobar. As long as there is a cue file with the same name in the directory, the plug-in can recognize it. The "XXXXXX”WAVE in the third line of the cue file only needs the same main file name as the image file, and mp3cue ignores the extension.

3. How to convert ape into mp3?

In fact, the monkey's audio supports an external codec, which can directly complete ape->; Mp3 conversion. Of course, appropriate settings should be made:

A. Download lame and copy it to the external directory under the installation directory of monkey (the related link below has the download address of lame version recommended by foreign authoritative forums).

B. Run the audio of the monkey, and select Convert in the mode menu.

C. in the second button of the toolbar, select external-> crappy->; Configuration, fill in the parameters needed to compress mp3 here, and recommend it.

-alt- preset limit

(The bit rate is 220-270 kilobits/second, and the average bit rate is usually around 256 kilobits/second.)

or

-alt- default standard

(Bit rate180-220kbit/s-usually about192kbit/s on average)

Just a reminder, the compression speed of the first parameter is much slower, and the machine is quite time-consuming because of its poor performance.

D. in the second button of the toolbar, select external-> crappy->; Lame, at this time, you can select the ape file to be converted, and then click the first button convert to realize APE->; This is mp3.

4. Can the wrong ape file be repaired? Or ignore it?

If the entire CD is pressed into ape and there is a corresponding cue file, then:

A. use make apl (a gadget attached to monkey audio) to convert cue into several apl files.

B. By adding these apl in Monkey, each track can be decompressed into a separate wav. Of course, the track containing the error part cannot be decompressed normally.

In theory, no matter what kind of ape it is, as long as you edit the appropriate apl and set the wrong part as a separate audio track, you can keep the other parts to the maximum extent.

5. How to burn APE to CD?

A. Apes-> WAV-& gt; laser record

This is the most commonly used method, which is suitable for both APEImage and multi-file APE, but it is also the most tedious.

B. burn CD with EAC

The recording function of EAC directly supports APE format, which is now ape->; The most convenient way to CD.

Menu tools in EAC-> write cd-r to open the recording function of EAC:

1) If you have a ready-made cue file, it will be easier. Just import the cue file directly. Please note that the path and name of the audio track file in cue must be correct. For more information about cue, please refer to question 2.

2) If there is no cue file, the downloaded file corresponds to an ape for each track, which is similar to carving wav or mp3 files into CDs in nero. The import command is under the layout menu (generally, it is recommended to use "Append files as new tracks (index 1)"), or drag and drop directly.

3) using APE plug-ins for Nero

After installing the ape plug-in for nero, you can drag and drop it in nero, just like burning a cd with wav and mp3. Plug-in download address: audio plug-in of Nero burning ROM in Mauau. Nero also has other audio plug-ins and common audio formats. Installation method of plug-in: extract the plug-in DLL to the directory "... AheadSharedAudioPlugins". Nero version requires 5.5.9.0 or higher.

Note: There is a major error in this earlier version of the Ape plug-in for Nero:

If you use Nero to import CUE to burn APEImage-& gt;; CD, it seems that it can be burned normally, and the number of tracks and time display are normal. However, play the engraved CD-all tracks are the same as the first track! If there are more than one ape-carved CD, there is no such problem, and everything is normal. The latest version (1.0.0.7) has fixed this bug according to my test. Please download the latest version. If your machine is fast enough, install this plug-in and burn APE- > directly with nero. CD is also a good choice.
