What do parents think? What should elderly people who live alone or who have not lived with their children for a long time do if something unexpected happens or they have a headache or fever?

I have some feelings recently. Some time ago, my father had a gastroscopy because of stomach discomfort. My brothers were not around due to work reasons, so I was the only one who could accompany him. Even though you have already made a reservation, just follow the instructions on the reservation text message. But when I arrived at the hospital, I saw that there were so many people like grains of rice. My parents were completely confused, so I asked them to sit aside and go through the procedures myself, find the specific floor, register, sign, and pay at the self-service machine... After busying myself for about twenty minutes, my father was ready to go in for a gastroscopy. I sat outside with my mother and waited. My mother said with emotion from time to time that if there were no young people around, I really wouldn’t know what to do.

In fact, it is not just my parents, but also thousands of parents like them. This era will only become more and more progressive, and the things you need to do will become more and more convenient. As long as you have a mobile phone, online shopping, ordering food, etc. are no problem. However, these may be a problem for parents. Although they also want to keep pace with the times, because they are getting older, their eyes will be presbyopic, their fingers are not so flexible, and their memory is not good. They may need to be taught one step at a time. I still can’t remember several times.

We either don’t live in the same city as our parents due to work and life issues, or we don’t live together in the same city. If they are in good health, they can just make phone calls. If they are sick and need someone to accompany them, they may long for their children to be around, but they are afraid to ask. Do we as children sometimes feel guilty?

Now start paying more attention to them. Sometimes the more polite they speak, the more helpless they are in their hearts. There is an old saying that goes well, if your parents are around you, if you don’t travel far, you will travel well.
