You can enclose 1 ~ 2 mu of water surface in the crab pond in advance to raise crabs for a short time, and then put them into the crab pond after the crab species adapt to the new water body.

2. When the crab pond is short of natural bait and the feed is seriously insufficient, crabs will run away for bait, which may lead to killing each other. In spring, 200 kilograms of live snails can be put into each mu of crab pond for natural reproduction and feeding of river crabs. During the growing period, the feeding management should be strengthened, and the feeding amount should be 5% ~ 10% of the weight of the pond crab twice a day. Feed is mainly animal feed, supplemented by plant feed.

3. The sudden change of weather, especially the bad weather such as wind and rain, is easy to cause the river crab to escape. The water level should be deepened before the weather changes and restored to the original water level after the rain.

4. The crab pond has few aquatic plants, strong water quality, low transparency and low dissolved oxygen, which is not conducive to the molting growth of Eriocheir sinensis, and Eriocheir sinensis will run away in order to find a suitable environment. Therefore, enough aquatic plants should be raised in the crab pond, and the coverage rate of aquatic plants should be stabilized at over 40%. In the growing season, change water every 2-3 days, and sprinkle quicklime every 15 days, so that the dissolved oxygen in the pond is above 4 mg/L, the pH value is 7.5-8, and the transparency is 40-60 cm.

5. After the gonad of the river crab matures, it is necessary to carry out reproductive migration, especially before and after the first frost, when the northwest wind blows or rains, the river crab moves frequently and climbs along the pool wall one after another. At this time, it is extremely important to prevent escape. It is necessary to strengthen escape prevention facilities and catch mature crabs in time.
