Ningshan County is located at the southern foot of the middle section of the Qinling Mountains. In order to increase the management and protection of the protected area, Ningshan County, despite the shortage of personnel, mobilized elite soldiers from the forestry system to establish three giant panda protection stations: Crown, Xinchang and Simu Di. Vigorously promote the creation of a beautiful home for giant pandas

In order to create a safe and peaceful home for giant pandas, the Ankang Municipal Government uses radio, television, newspapers and other media to vigorously promote the protection of giant pandas. They also use publicity vehicles to carry out extensive publicity and education on laws and regulations on wildlife protection during the annual "Bird Love Week" and "Wildlife Publicity Month" activities; they also hold "Protect Giant Pandas, Protect Wild Animals" Photo exhibition; printing wildlife propaganda slogans, posting notices on the protection of wild animals, and producing 150 permanent publicity plates of the "Notice on Strengthening the Management of Giant Panda Nature Reserves". A large 50-square-meter billboard was erected in a prominent location in the nature reserve. Through publicity, the enthusiasm among cadres and the masses to love giant pandas and protect nature has reached an unprecedented high.

In order to ensure the safety of wild animal and plant resources in the Giant Panda Nature Reserve and improve the habitat of giant pandas, the Ningshan County People's Government established the "Ningshan County Wildlife Protection Work" on September 10, 2002. In order to protect the habitat and food source of giant pandas, we actively coordinated with the Ningdong and Ningxi Forestry Bureaus of neighboring provinces to strengthen the protection and management of giant pandas in state-owned forest areas.

At the same time, the Ningshan Giant Panda Reserve always regards rescuing injured and sick wild animals as its top priority. Since the establishment of the reserve, the government has rescued 10 national first- and second-level protected wild animals, including giant pandas, golden monkeys, takin, forest musk deer, and black bears. On June 11, 2001, the Ningshan County People's Government issued the "Notice on Commending and Rewarding Comrade Chen Dongxue for Discovering the Giant Panda." After the notification was issued, it caused a great response and enhanced the awareness of the cadres and the masses to protect rare wild animals, playing a vital role in the protection of giant pandas.
