Initiated

Operation CD-ROM was proposed by three members of "IN_33" in early January 2013. The earliest call was "From me Let’s start, there will be no leftovers today.” Later, one of the founders came up with the current name CD Action.

On January 15, more than thirty members of the "IN_33" organization began to distribute leaflets and posters in hotels and gas stations in Beijing, but the activity did not officially begin until January 16.

The number of Weibo posts related to Operation CD began to increase on January 21, and the activity continued to heat up thereafter. After the "People's Daily" published an article on its front page on January 25, "Operation CD-ROM received enthusiastic response," media and catering companies from all over the country began to participate on a large scale.
