What are antibacterial drugs? What are the categories of antibacterial veterinary drugs?

Antibacterial drugs are a class of drugs that can inhibit or kill pathogenic bacteria and are widely used to treat or prevent infectious diseases in livestock and poultry and other animals. In livestock production, some antibacterial drugs can also stimulate animal growth, increase feed returns, and reduce mortality, and are used as feed additives.

Antibacterial veterinary drugs can be divided into four major categories according to their sources, properties and applications:

(1) Antibiotic veterinary drugs (penicillins, cephalosporins, antibiotics, etc.) cyclic lactones, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, peptides, chloramphenicol and other antibiotics).

(2) Synthetic antibacterial veterinary drugs (sulfonamides, furans and quinolones).
