Seasonal law of agricultural futures (recommended collection)

"Planting melons and beans before and after Qingming Festival", as a precious agricultural scientific heritage in China, 24 solar terms is mainly to guide agricultural production. The meaning of this proverb means that before and after the Qingming Festival, the temperature rises and the rainfall increases, which is an excellent season for spring ploughing and spring planting.

There are many agricultural products in the futures market, such as soybeans, corn, cotton and so on. When making these varieties, it is important to know their production cycle, because it will tell you when to concentrate on the market, at what stage, what weather will affect the output and so on. Which agricultural futures were planted in Tomb-Sweeping Day or later?

1 cotton

"A drop of sweat in spring, a tree flower in autumn" means the growth cycle of cotton.

Cotton in Xinjiang, the main producing area, is usually sown on April 15th-25th, during which it goes through seedling stage, bud stage, flower and boll stage, and then it begins to boll in late August and early September, and enters the harvest season. The boll-opening period usually lasts for 7 to 8 days. In the whole process, the flowering and bolling period (from early July to the end of August and early September) is the key period to determine the yield and quality, when the water demand is the most. If the water is out of balance, it will cause the buds to fall off.

2 Apple

Apple tree is a kind of fruit tree that will blossom and bear fruit after being planted for 3-5 years, and its economic life is 15-5 years. Generally, it blooms in April and May, bears fruit after flowering and bagging within one month. The fruit growth period of early-maturing varieties is 65-87 days, that of middle-maturing varieties is 9-133 days, and that of late-maturing varieties is 137-168 days.

Late-ripening apples are the main products in China, that is to say, October is the time for apples to be listed on the market. If adverse weather such as low temperature and rainfall occurs during flowering, the fruit setting rate will be affected.

3 Jujube

Jujube trees are similar to apple trees, and they also blossom and bear fruit for many years. The flowering period is long, usually from May to July. Maturity is also in September and October of autumn. Like apples, flowering period is the key period to determine the yield. Temperature, humidity, precipitation, light and strong wind will affect the flowering and pollination of jujube trees.

For example, low temperature, continuous rain and insufficient light will cause a large number of jujube trees to drop flowers. When there is strong wind and dusty weather during pollination, it will affect fruit setting because it cannot be pollinated normally; When the air humidity is low, scorching will occur.

4 peanuts

Generally speaking, the planting time of spring sowing peanuts is from mid-April to early May, that is, around Grain Rain. It takes about 128-175 days from sowing to harvesting, that is, it will be listed in September-October. Peanut harvest must be in the best period, and it is easy to rot, drop and germinate if it is too late, which will reduce production.

5 soybeans

There are three types of soybeans in China: spring soybeans, summer soybeans and autumn soybeans. The soybeans sown in spring in the main producing areas of Northeast China are generally sown in spring and harvested in autumn. That is, planting in May and June, flowering in July and August, pod setting and grouting in August and September, and centralized harvesting in October.

the growth of soybean between the germination period (mid-June to late June) and the flowering period (mid-July to late July) will determine the number of soybean blossoms, and ultimately determine the final yield of soybean. If there is a drought during the period, it is likely to have an adverse impact on the output.

6 corn

The corn in the main producing areas is mostly harvested in autumn in summer sowing, which is similar to soybean. Usually, after the harvest of last season's crops, such as wheat, corn or soybeans are planted. The whole growth period is basically from May to June to October.

7 rapeseed

For spring rapeseed, the next step is sowing, and then harvesting in October and November. However, winter rapeseed is the main crop in China, which is usually planted in October-November and harvested in May-June. Compared with the previous ones, it belongs to planting in the second half of the year.

8 sugar

Sugarcane can be planted in spring or autumn, and in spring, it can be planted in April at the latest, and in autumn, it can be planted in August-September. If planted in spring, it will grow and mature in May-July, and it will mature in December when planted in autumn. The main sugarcane producing areas in China are from mid-November or early December to April-June of the following year. Beet sugar is squeezed from the end of September or early October and ends in February of the following year.

Because of the different latitudes and climates in different parts of the world, the sugar production periods of the major sugar exporting countries in the world are different.
