Star Alliance was established in 1997 and headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. It is the first global airline alliance in the world. The English name and logo of Star Alliance represent five members when it was first established: Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways International, Air Canada, Lufthansa and United Airlines.
