Why is it said that "science and technology is a double-edged sword"?

So how can we wield a sword with such a contradictory thing without hurting ourselves? How can we promote the progress of our work so that it can be used by us? How can we make science and technology consistent with practical capabilities? In fact, the development of human beings is a history of contradictory development, constantly progressing and developing with difficulty in the midst of destruction and rebirth.
