The Emergency Department of Peking University First Hospital was founded in 1989. Currently, there are internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dermatology and other clinics open to serve patients at any time. The emergency department has a dedicated pharmacy, fee office, laboratory, general X-ray and CT open 24 hours a day. At present, the emergency department receives about 300 patients every day. The working area is divided into five parts: reception area, rescue area, temporary observation area, observation ward and intensive care unit. It has 63 beds, including 3 rescue beds and intensive care beds. 18 beds, 42 observation beds, and 40 temporary infusion chairs. Ordinary emergency patients will go to the corresponding department after being triaged. If their condition requires, they can receive infusion treatment in the temporary observation room. Critically ill patients are directly admitted to the emergency room for diagnosis and treatment. The emergency department has been able to provide comprehensive treatment for critically ill patients who have no beds in the ward or who cannot be admitted due to their condition, from consultation, rescue, monitoring to ordinary observation wards. Staffing: 22 active doctors, including 3 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians, 15 attending physicians, 75% of whom have a master's degree or above.
