On December 28 this year, with the ignition and operation of the third phase of the Haikou incineration power generation project and the second phase of the Wenchang and Qionghai incineration power generation projects, it means that the domestic waste incineration treatment capacity of Hainan Province has reached 11,575 tons/day. , the current domestic waste processing capacity in the province is 10,999 tons/day, and the incineration processing capacity has exceeded the processing capacity for the first time. The improvement of the province's domestic waste incineration treatment capacity has laid a solid foundation and provided conditions for the Hainan domestic waste landfill to stop accepting domestic waste. At present, the province has carried out relevant work in accordance with the principle of "provincial overall arrangements, incineration of all incremental increases, gradual consumption of stocks, and implementation of source reduction."

The reporter learned that all 16 domestic waste landfills in Hainan Province have stopped accepting domestic waste. Among them, the Qiongzhong County Domestic Waste Landfill has been out of use since August 2017. Starting from January 1, 2021, the other 15 domestic waste landfills, including landfills with remaining storage capacity, will no longer accept the task of harmless treatment of domestic waste.

According to reports, in accordance with the principle of matching proximity and processing capacity, domestic waste in the province will be transferred to corresponding incineration power plants for processing. Based on factors such as the transportation distance between cities and counties and the processing capacity of eight domestic waste incineration power generation projects, the province has completed the preparation of the domestic waste service scope in Hainan Province and has issued it to the city and county governments to implement overall arrangements for waste incineration services in the province. According to the waste The principle of full coverage of incineration treatment ensures that all domestic waste collected in the province has corresponding incineration power plants for processing. After a period of trial operation, the service scope of the incineration plant can be fine-tuned according to actual conditions.

Based on actual needs, relevant departments guide cities and counties to carry out screening and reduction processing of existing garbage in landfills. The screened domestic waste can be incinerated in incineration plants and can be recycled. What is used is reused, gradually reducing the landfill storage capacity and leachate production, and gradually consuming the landfill's stock of garbage.

It is also understood that starting from October 1 this year, Haikou, Sanya, Sansha, Danzhou and other cities and counties have implemented garbage classification work. At present, the province's garbage classification work is progressing in an orderly manner.
