Why Gulangyu Island is the Island of Love?

Because it has many romantic meanings of love, Gulangyu is romantic, quiet and literary, and all beautiful words are inextricably linked with Gulangyu. This island, which appeared in the Neolithic Age, never disturbed time, but softened the years.

Gulangyu street is short and criss-crossed, and small red and white buildings rise from the ground. Under the sunlight, the red tiles sparkle and look particularly delicate. Walking slowly on the green slate, feeling the oncoming sea breeze brushing your cheeks, touching the mottled walls with your hands and gently telling the Millennium time.

The representative scenic spots of Gulangyu Island are: Sunlight Rock, Lu Manor, Haoyue Garden, Yuyuan Garden, Gulangyu Stone, Gulangyu Piano Museum, Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall, Xiamen Underwater World, natural beaches and sea paradise structure. Integrating history, culture and natural landscape, it is a national-level scenic spot and the first of the "Top Ten" scenic spots in Fujian.

Wang Xinjian, a famous poet, wrote in the poem Gulangyun: "There is a Lu Yu in the world and a Zhenhai Gate in the rock. Blue sky, white sails carrying white clouds. Tiles are called ancient temples, and only banyan trees are heavily forested. Father thinks of the country of stone, and the bamboo shadow wipes the sword mark. " It shows the heavy history and beautiful scenery of Gulangyu Island. With the development of Xiamen, Gulangyu Island has become a comprehensive island scenic and cultural tourist area integrating sightseeing, vacation, tourism, shopping, leisure and entertainment. On May 8, 2007, it was officially approved as a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It was selected as "the first of the five most beautiful urban areas in China" by National Geographic magazine.
