The history and culture of Shiqiao Town

Shiqiao Town has a long history. Zhangqian Village, which has been built for more than a thousand years, has Liu Fu, the second-rank censor of Youdu in the Ming Dynasty who is famous throughout the world; Liu Kongyu, who lived in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, authored "Heng Ding Ji" .

Stone Bridge is an important part of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area, the old revolutionary base area. In June 1928, Comrade Mao Zedong carried out revolutionary activities in Shiqiao Village, planning and preparing for the establishment of the Lithography Bureau of Hunan and Jiangxi Province. During the revolution in the Soviet Area, there was a Red Army hospital, a Red Army uniform factory, and a mint. The Liu family ancestral hall in Zhangchang Village still retains Red Army slogans and Red Army pictures, recording the historical imprint of the revolution.
