According to the official announcement of Shandong Provincial Expressway Administration, Tesla electric vehicles were temporarily banned on some expressways from September/8th, 2002 18. This decision is based on the consideration of safety supervision, aiming at ensuring the safety and smoothness of road traffic. Tesla electric vehicle uses lithium battery as energy storage device, which has the advantages of high energy density and fast charging, but it also has certain security risks. Once the lithium battery fails or overheats, it may cause fire or even explosion, posing a threat to driving and road safety. Therefore, in order to prevent potential safety hazards, Jinan Tesla is forbidden to get on the expressway.
