The main dam is an earth-rock dam with clay core wall, with a dam height of 73m (before dam protection and reinforcement), corresponding to the elevation of the dam top 105.5m, the dam top length of 305m, the width of 8m, and the maximum dam bottom width of 312.8m. Curtain grouting makes the foundation impervious. The auxiliary dam is near the left end of the main dam, and it is a slope protection type, with a slope protection height of 40m, a top width of 10m and a length of 100m.
The spillway is located in the valley 300 meters away from the left bank. Before the dam protection and reinforcement, it was an open wide-topped weir with an elevation width of 56 meters. There is a water-filled rubber dam on the weir, which is 56 meters long and 5 meters high. At the end is a nose sill at an altitude of 84.5 meters.
The water conveyance tunnel is located on the right bank, and its main tunnel is also used for construction diversion, flood discharge and water diversion for power generation, with a length of 303.8m and a diameter of 7m, followed by a drainage tunnel with a length of 2 13m. The maximum designed flood discharge of the tunnel is 595 cubic meters per second. Shan Mei Irrigation District is one of the 42 large-scale irrigation districts with an area of 500,000 ~ 6,543.8+0,000 mu in China, and it is the only large-scale irrigation district in Fujian Province that irrigates more than 500,000 mu. The original planned irrigation area includes 902 brigades of 48 communes (farms) in Hui 'an, Jinjiang, Nan 'an and Quanzhou, with cultivated land area of 6,543.8+0.3434 million mu, of which 607,000 mu can be irrigated by original water conservancy (there are 34 reservoirs with original storage capacity of 6,543.8+0.000 cubic meters and total storage capacity of 2,665.438+0.000 cubic meters).
The master plan of Shan Mei Irrigation District is to take Shanmei Reservoir as the backbone, give full play to the role of the original water conservancy projects, make full use of runoff sources in Jinjiang and other areas to divert water for irrigation, and make overall arrangements to connect the water conservancy projects in the irrigation area into an irrigation network. Considering the traffic requirements of ships, the South Canal can go up from Shuanggou Low Canal in Jinjiang, enter the main canal through the lock of Shudou Water Diversion Hub, and then enter the upper reaches of Jinji Gate from Yutian Xinkai Canal through Yutian Gate. On April 1975 and 15, the South Canal was expanded and opened to water. The expansion project of the North Canal started in July, with 1973. It is the connecting project of the North Canal in Shan Mei Irrigation District and one of the important bridges of Fuzhou-Xiamen Highway, with comprehensive benefits of irrigation, transportation, moisture prevention and flood discharge. The project started in June 197 1, was completed in July 1974, and the road bridge was officially opened to traffic in June of the same year. After the Shanmei Reservoir Project was put into operation, it received the benefits of irrigation, flood control, power generation and comprehensive management. The original design irrigation water consumption of the project is 650 million cubic meters, and the irrigation area is 6 1.67 million mu. The approved irrigation area is 650,000 mu, including 420,000 mu in Jinjiang County (including present-day shishi city), 0/0.2 million mu in Hui 'an County, 60,000 mu in Licheng District, 50,000 mu in Nan 'an County, and 480,000 mu in supporting irrigation. The irrigation efficiency is remarkable, and the crop yield in the irrigation area is increasing year by year. The water supply flow of the project to Quanzhou is 2.44 cubic meters per second, which is used for industrial production and residents' life, and the annual water consumption is 77 million cubic meters.
The original design flood control benefit of the project is to ensure that 30,000 mu of cultivated land along the South Bank Wharf, Meishan, Honglai, Kangmei and other coastal areas and Honglai Town will not be flooded once every 20 years. The flood dike in the lower reaches of Jinjiang River will reduce the peak flow and stagger the peak operation, so as to reduce the peak pressure and improve the flood control capacity. The original designed annual power generation of the reservoir power station is 65.438+0.05 billion kWh.
