Nantong University Library is the merger of Nantong University's predecessor public library. Located in the main campus, Qixiu campus, Zhongxiu campus and Qidong campus, with a total area of 47,300 square meters and 2,860 reading seats.

The library is rich in electronic literature resources and various electronic publications, including full-text database of China journals, full-text database of China sci-tech journals, superstar e-books, master's thesis of Wanfangbo, MEDLINE, Biosis Previews, Proquest Health & etc. There are 4/kloc-0 large databases in Chinese and foreign languages such as Medcal Complete and Springer-Link literature database, with 936,000 e-books and 954,000 doctoral dissertations. According to the needs of specialty setting and subject development, the library adjusts the collection strategy of literature information resources in time to meet the needs of different types of readers.

On the basis of making full use of the campus network, the library has established a fully functional software and hardware support system, a SAN structured storage access and automatic backup system, and a fully functional online information resource service system consisting of a network database, a local database and a self-built database, which provides 24-hour online query of full-text periodicals, titles, abstracts and e-books. The library applies Huiwen book management integrated system to handle daily business, and the book acquisition, cataloging, collection, circulation, public inquiry, interlibrary loan and periodical management are all automated.
