Regarding the reasons for the demolition, Jinan CDC gave four explanations.

First, chemical disinfectants are harmful to human body, and chemical stimulation can damage respiratory mucosa, making it more susceptible to infection; It has been reported that chlorine-containing disinfectants have different degrees of adverse reactions to people in direct contact and indirect contact. The higher the concentration, the stronger the reaction, and improper use of disinfectant will easily cause adverse effects on human body and environment. Farms usually use glutaraldehyde for disinfection. Because of the short life span of farmed animals, the toxicological evaluation method of disinfectants used is different from that used in human living environment. For farms, glutaraldehyde is a low-toxic disinfectant, which is more toxic to people. It is forbidden to use glutaraldehyde to disinfect the external environment and air. Alcohol belongs to dangerous goods, mainly used for hand disinfection and article wiping disinfection, and spraying disinfection is strictly prohibited; At present, there is no chemical disinfectant for human spray disinfection. Skin mucosa disinfectant can be used for wound treatment, injection disinfection and so on. Others are used for disinfection of external environment, inanimate objects and air. In the process of disinfection, people inhale disinfectant or spray disinfectant on people, so it is impossible to quantitatively assess the risk at present.

Second, the instructions for the use of disinfectants stipulate that spraying disinfection of the environment and air must be carried out without people.

Thirdly, the prevention and control measures in novel coronavirus include good hygiene habits, hand hygiene, regular disinfection of objects and articles in frequent contact, wearing masks, and opening windows for ventilation. Disinfection of human external surface is of little significance to prevention and control.

Fourth, the disinfectant must reach a certain concentration and disinfect for a specified time to achieve the disinfection effect. It is difficult to evaluate the disinfection effect when passing through an extremely low concentration atomized disinfectant.

To sum up, we do not recommend building disinfection channels. Residents are advised to develop good hygiene habits at ordinary times, keep their homes clean, disinfect when necessary, wash their hands frequently, have more ventilation, and try not to go to crowded and unventilated places.
