Cultural Tradition of Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences

The emblem of Wuhan Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences was officially published and used in 2003 through collective conception.

Metasequoia glyptostroboides is a relict plant endemic to China, a national first-class protected plant, and its origin is in central China. The emblem of Wuhan Botanical Garden is abstracted from the shape of Metasequoia glyptostroboides, which means that the garden focuses on plants in central China. Trees are light green, green and yellow, which have two meanings: (1) From the point of view of species, it means that Central China is rich in species resources; (2) From the perspective of vegetation, there are many seasonal changes in vegetation, which implies that there are many vegetation types in Central China.

These three English capital letters combine to form the English abbreviation of Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Below the tree, there is a white watermark composed of three "C" shapes, surrounded by green, which has three main meanings: (1) It embodies the research characteristics of Wuhan Botanical Garden in Hubei Province, a province with thousands of lakes, in aquatic plants, wetland plants and watershed ecology. Through research, Hubei and even Central China should be "beautiful". (2) The three English letters "c" in the watermark are the initials of the English word "center", which means that the park has made important contributions to the sustainable development of China's social economy and the industrialization of bio-economic scale around the three functions of "collection and protection of plant resources, scientific research and development, and dissemination and popularization of scientific knowledge". Wuhan Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences will hold various cultural activities between park staff and graduate students, such as hiking, scientists' salons, Spring Festival activities and badminton competitions.

On the afternoon of 2015165438+1018, the eighth badminton team competition of Wuhan Botanical Garden came to an end in the East Lake Sunshine Badminton Hall. More than 40 employees and graduate students from the park participated in the competition.
