According to Article 105 of China People's Liberation Army Internal Affairs Regulations, soldiers' hair should be neat and clean. Male soldiers are not allowed to have long hair, big sideburns and beards, and their hair storage (wearing wigs) is not allowed to be exposed outside the hat. The length of the hat wall should not exceed 1.5 cm. Female soldiers should not braid their hair over their shoulders, and female soldiers should not have a perm. The person in charge of a department or above may decide to keep one or more hairstyles for his employees within the specified hairstyles. Soldiers are only allowed to dye the same color as their original hair color.

Article 106 Soldiers are not allowed to get tattoos.
