Do Burmese people use China's surname?
Random talk on "surnames" in Myanmar: Deqin, Maung, Ge, Wu, Ma and Du.
Author: Maung Chan (Burmese Chinese)
Reader: Mr Qiang Mao, we are your loyal readers. Recently, you introduced famous Burmese politicians such as Deqin Aung San, Deqin Nu, Deqin Suo, Deqin Dantun and Deqin Ba to attend the summit. . . . All the names are preceded by "Deqin". Is Deqin like Sakyamuni's imperial surname "Sakyamuni"? Or the compound surname Ouyang like Ouyang Xiu? . . . . However, when you say that Burmese people don't have surnames, we are confused. What's going on here?
Appearance: These men of the hour in Myanmar were originally called Wu Aung Shan, Wu Nu, Wu Dan Tun and Wu Ba. Deqin' comes from Deqin Party, not a surname-Burmese really don't have a surname.
As we all know, British troops occupied the southwest and south of Lower Myanmar in 1824, swallowed half of Myanmar in 1852 and occupied all of Myanmar in 1885. After Myanmar's national subjugation, the people of Myanmar must address them as master or master when talking, writing and meeting with British rulers, that is, Mr., Master and Your Majesty. After the First World War, Myanmar's national consciousness woke up and thought that Myanmar belonged to the Burmese people. 1930-3 1 year, self-respecting Burmese nationalists organized "(Dobama Asia Ayon)" with the slogan: "Myanmar is our country, and its language is our language. We should love our country and advocate and respect our own language. Everyone agrees that they themselves, the people of Myanmar, are the real masters of Myanmar, that is, Tarkin. Therefore, all members of the Myanmar People's Association crowned their names with Deqin, replacing the traditional looks, brothers and Wu-everyone called themselves or each other Deqin. The founders of "I Myanmar Association" call themselves Thakin Ba Thaung, Thain Basein, Thakin Thein Maung and Thain Tunswei. Everybody calls them that. The Myanmar Association is also called Deqin Party.
Readers: Strike and strike leaders, trade unions, farmers' associations, student unions and military leaders around World War II found that they were all Deqin people. Are they all Deqin's?
Qiang Qiang: Yes! 1In March, 935, Deqin Party held its first national congress and established its headquarters, which soon became the leading core of the national ethnic movement. 1In July, 938, Deqin led a demonstration and strike of Myanmar oil workers that shocked China and foreign countries. Later, they advocated and led the national trade unions, farmers' associations and student federations, and actively carried out the surging struggle for national independence.
Readers, it seems that the leaders of Myanmar, Myanmar Way Out, Myanmar Independence Army and Anti-Fascist People's Freedom League are all Deqin. Are these organizations developing well?
Qiang Qiang: You're right!
Myanmar * * *:1939 August 15 * * was founded by Deqin Aung San, Deqin Dantun, Deqin Suo and takin Baheng. 1946, some members of the Central Committee, headed by Deqin Suo, formed another red flag, Myanmar * * *, and resolutely took the route of Soviet armed power seizure. In 1970, 1 1, they were completely defeated and Deqinsuo was captured by the government. The former Myanmar was called White Flag Myanmar, and Deqin Dantun continued to lead and carry out Mao Zedong's armed struggle route of "encircling the city from the countryside". 1On September 24th, 968, Deqin Dantun was killed by the spy of Nevan (called Deqin Xiumei before independence), and Tajinjin succeeded and persisted in the violent revolution. 1On May 25th, 975, Dechinsin was killed, and Tarkin Basselin took over as chairman and Tarkin Peiding as vice chairman, continuing the armed revolution. 1989 Myanmar * * * falls apart.
Myanmar Way Out School: In 1939, Deqin Party invited Myanmar, the poor party, the Parliamentary Democratic Party and the Myanmar People's Revolutionary Party (led by Deqin Miao and then Deqin Juedun) to seek common ground while reserving differences, and Dr. Ba Maw, the leader of the poor party, was the general secretary. Deqin Nu, Deqin Miao and Deqin Labo are the main members.
Myanmar Independent Army: On February 26th, 2000, in Thailand 194 15438, it led 1500 to recruit 30 people with lofty ideals, including Tattoo Aung San, Tattoo Tunaker and Thakin Shu Maung (General Ne Win).
Anti-Fascist People's Freedom League: It is an anti-Japanese United front secretly formed in Yangon in August by Myanmar * * led by Deqin Suo and Deqin Denton and Myanmar National Defence Force led by Deqin Aung San, and Myanmar People's Revolutionary Army led by Deqin Miao and Deqin Jueton. The first chairman is Deqin Aung San and the general secretary is Deqin Denton. /kloc-0 led the national anti-Japanese war in March, 1945, and/kloc-0 opposed Britain's return to Myanmar in July, 1946. In September, due to different views on the interim government, Myanmar withdrew. 1in April, 947, Aung San formed an interim government. In July, President Deqin Aung San and leading member Deqin Miao were killed, and Deqin Nu continued to lead and concurrently served as Prime Minister of the interim government. From 65438 to 0948, after Myanmar's independence, the anti-fascist People's Freedom League has been the ruling party. 1April, 958, the alliance split into "incorruptible faction" (Nuding faction) and "consolidation faction" (Ruiying faction). In the general election of 1960, the incorruptible faction led by Wu Nu won and changed its name to "Federalist Party", while the "Consolidation Party" still used the original name of the Alliance. 1962 On March 2nd, General Hinawin (formerly Tokin Seymour) staged a coup to seize power, and all politicians were put in prison. On March 1964, all political parties were banned.
Readers: Most people in China and Taiwan Province Province mistakenly believe that leaders whose surname was Deqin before 1948 changed their surname to Wu after Myanmar became independent, forming Wu's ruling family.
Force a smile: After Myanmar's independence, the ruling Deqin people thought that the people were masters of the country, so they asked all Deqin party member to cancel the title of Deqin and restore the traditional title of "Wu Moumou". For example, Prime Minister Deqin Nu was renamed Wu Nu, and Defense Minister Deqin Xiumei was renamed General Naiwin.
However, other revolutionaries and patriots who think that "the revolution has not yet succeeded" continue to be called Deqin XXX after Myanmar's "independence". They have been fighting for their original goals all their lives-for example, the leader of Myanmar Red Flag still called himself Deqin Suo until his death, and the leader of Myanmar White Flag still called himself Deqin Dantun, Deqin Xing and Deqin Ba until the top. Do you remember the national first-class teacher, the patriotic poet Mao Lun? He was honored as "Thakin Kodawming" by the people of Myanmar until his death.
Readers: Are you a close friend of China people and a famous patriotic Burmese writer and poet who won the Stalin Peace Prize in 1950s and 1960s?
Qiang Qiang: Yes! He was born in a peasant family in Pimo County in 1875 and has a beautiful childhood name. When he was young, he became a monk and studied Pali Buddhist scriptures and Burmese literature in temples. 19 years old secular, typesetting and proofreading in a newspaper for a living. 19 1 1 was the editor of The Sun, and then he founded the first national university in Myanmar, Bahan Institute for Nationalities, and personally taught Myanmar history and literature. Most of Myanmar's national leaders and revolutionary leaders are his proteges and are deeply loved by the people of the whole country. 1934 was elected honorary chairman of Deqin Party and renamed Deqin Godmai, actively fighting against Britain and Japan and striving for national liberation. He became chairman of Deqin Party on 1945 and became a Buddhist in Myanmar. After Myanmar's independence, his old man strongly opposed the opposition between Myanmar's civil war and the two camps in the world. In 1949, he warmly cheered the people of China to stand up. He has served as Chairman of Myanmar's Domestic Peace Committee, Chairman of Myanmar's Committee for Defending World Peace, Honorary Chairman of Myanmar-China Friendship Association, Director of World Peace Council and Honorary Chairman of Myanmar Writers Association. /Kloc-0 was awarded the title of "Outstanding Literary Artist" by the Myanmar government in 1950, and/Kloc-0 won the Stalin National Award for "Strengthening International Peace" in 1955. Died in1964-Dictators and warmongers at home and abroad applauded warmly, but people all over the country were extremely sad.
Readers: At that time, Southeast Asia was anti-China, and the descendants of China people in Myanmar were "legally" looted, swept out of the house and fled to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan provinces in batches, and China and the United States also took in a large number. Isn't this a human tragedy?
Strong debut: 1963-64, in the name of socialist nationalization in Myanmar, the Wu Naiwen military government confiscated overseas Chinese industrial and commercial enterprises, invalidated 50 kyats-100 kyats banknotes, confiscated and permanently closed Chinese schools, and strictly restricted the legal activities of overseas Chinese, resulting in overseas Chinese having nothing in the economy and no room for normal business activities. Overseas Chinese in Myanmar are helpless and can only be slaughtered-they are veritable overseas orphans! His old man's house is not here-don't get me wrong! I mean Deqin Godmai, so no one dares to say a word of sympathy or justice for the overseas Chinese in dire straits.
Reader: You call yourself' very strong'. Everyone calls you' Wu Qiang', but your peers call you' Ge Qiang'. Why?
Good-looking: Burmese men and women have no surnames. Maung, Ko and u are the titles of Burmese men, ranking first in their names. Appearance means younger brother-men call themselves peers or elders and call their younger generation. "Brother" means brother-used to address men of the same age. "Wu" means uncle, uncle, and it is a respectful title for elders or people with status.
From birth to middle school, I called myself "Maung Chan" and everyone called me "Maung Chan". Although I still called myself "strong" in college, my younger generation and peers began to call me "(Ko Chan)". I was a middle school teacher when I was in college. After graduation, I worked in Myanmar Industrial Development Bureau. I was almost killed during my exclusion from China from 65438 to 0967, so I went abroad to study and take refuge. Since then, I have been working in Germany and Holland. . . . Most of the time after graduating from college, although I still claimed to be "good-looking", all Burmese people called me "(u chan)".
Women's names in Myanmar begin with "(ma' or" (Daw) ". "Mom" means sister. Women can call themselves this way, peers can call each other this way, and elders can call their younger generation this way. "Du" means aunt or aunt-used to address older women or respected married or unmarried women.
For example, Aung San Suu Kyi: When she was in primary and secondary schools, she called herself' Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi' and everyone called her' Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi'. Although she still calls herself' Aung San Suu Kyi' when she works in universities and the United Nations, everyone respects her as' Aung San Suu Kyi'.
