In 1954, Ji Chenye graduated from Tonghua Coal Mine School and was assigned to work in the Design Department of Tonghua Mining Bureau. In the spring of 1966, the Air Force was organized to enter Xinjiang to establish the Eighth Aviation School. In April 1968, the Second Regiment of the Eighth Aviation School officially started training at Luotuoquan Airport. Ji Chenye served as the regiment's navigation director. During the flight training, he found that most of the airspace did not have obvious landmarks, making it difficult to maintain the airspace position. It was the early days of the Cultural Revolution. Out of love for the Party and Chairman Mao, as well as the fundamental purpose of "serving the people," and because the conditions in the Gobi Desert were very desolate and difficult, the soldiers could not do anything. Therefore, we must "learn from struggle", not be intimidated by difficulties, and must "seize the day and night" and "overcome all difficulties and strive for victory." So in the end, "Long live Chairman Mao!", "Serve the people", "Learn from struggle", "Seize the day", and "Destroy all odds to win" were selected as the slogans.

Mr. Ji Chenye served as the regimental navigation director at that time, and it was also his job responsibility to provide navigation landmarks for the flight academy. In addition, he studied geological surveying before joining the Air Force and loved calligraphy and painting. These are quotation landmarks. provided the conditions for creation. According to old man Ji Chenye's recollection, there was no modern satellite positioning system at that time. The only way to determine the accurate range of airspace was through theodolite measurements, and then determine the locations of landmarks.

Mr. Ji Chenye has dual skills in geological surveying and calligraphy. He drew a sample slogan on graph paper in advance, and then led the officers and soldiers of the Second Regiment of the Eighth Aviation School to the Gobi Desert.
