Who is Guan Yu's wife? How is it recorded in history?

The topic of who Guan Yu's wife is has been debated endlessly in the history circle, because this point did not appear in the History of the Three Kingdoms, not even the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, not even the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

In fact, a closer look at the Romance of the Three Kingdoms reveals something about Guan Yu's marriage. Although there is only one sentence, let's talk about how Liu Bei helped him find a wife when he was in Jingzhou. But Guan Yu didn't say what his wife looked like, what her name was and where she came from. After the Song Dynasty, besides Guandi Temple, people actually built Lady Guandi Temple. We see that there are couplets in every temple, which simply summarizes the life or achievements of the people enshrined in the temple, but there is nothing to write about this couplet in Mrs. Guan's temple.

In our ancient drama, there was a woman named Cao Yuee. Legend has it that Cao Cao gave the woman to Guan Yu that year. This sentence appeared on Guan Yu. This woman is Cao Cao's adopted daughter and gave it to Guan Yu, but Guan Yu only has a big brother in his heart and has no feelings for this woman. She was left behind when Guan Yu left. She begged Guan Yu to take herself away, but she didn't get a positive answer, so she drew her sword and committed suicide. This plot is heroic, but it is only a folk drama creation.

It is mentioned in Biography of China that Guan Yu's wife's name is Hu Jinding. Guan Yu was sworn in three years ago, but Liu Bei was single dog and his two younger brothers had families, so he was worried that the three of them could not share life and death because of this. Zhang Fei said to Guan Yu, "Let's exchange. You kill my wife and children, and I will kill your wife and children." As a result, when Zhang Fei really stood in front of Hu Jinding, he found that he could not do it, and Hu Jinding was pregnant with Guan Suo that year, and Zhang Fei released Hu Jinding.

And Adu said. This sentence comes from a record of Ji Shu in the biography of Guan Yu in the reflection of the three kingdoms. Cao Cao and Liu Bei besieged Lu Bu, and Guan Yu repeatedly asked Cao Cao to marry Lu Bu's subordinates. Cao Cao was curious to see what kind of beauty made Guan Da hero bend over. As a result, he became fascinated and naturally took it for himself. It is said that that beautiful woman is Du Fu.

Another nonsense comes from the popular story of Guan Suo recognizing Jingzhou in Ming and Qing Dynasties. More interestingly, a new tombstone engraved with "Hou Chang married Hu" was found in the Qing Dynasty, which also confirmed Hu's statement.
