What's the difference between Wuliangye and Maotai?
Wuliangye is a specialty of Yibin City, Sichuan Province.
Moutai is a specialty of Maotai Town, renhuai city, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province.

Wuliangye takes sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat and corn as raw materials.
Moutai is brewed from local excellent waxy sorghum and wheat, and more distiller's yeast is used than raw materials.

Wuliangye, driven by "Bao Bao Qu", is fermented in old pits, aged for many years and carefully blended.
Maotai liquor has to go through two times of blanking, nine times of cooking, eight times of spreading and adding koji (seven times of fermentation) and seven times of taking liquor. The production cycle is as long as one year, then it is aged for more than three years and stored for one year after blending, which makes the quality of liquor more harmonious, mellow and soft and can be bottled and delivered from the factory. The whole production process lasted nearly five years.

Wuliangye is produced in Yibin, located at 27 50'-2916' north latitude, 0/03 36'-105 20' east longitude, with average annual rainfall 1200mm, mild climate and average annual temperature/kloc.
Maotai Town, the origin of Moutai, has a very special natural environment and climate conditions. It is located in the lowest basin in Guizhou Plateau, only 440 meters above sea level, far away from the plateau airflow, with dense clouds all day long. In summer, the high temperature of 35-39℃ lasts for five months, and most of the year is shrouded in hot and humid rain and fog. This special climate, water quality and soil conditions are very conducive to the fermentation and maturity of wine materials, and also play a decisive role in the generation and refinement of microorganisms and the increase and decrease of aroma components in Moutai.
5. Different historical origins:
Wuliangye is brewed in a unique natural environment by using the ancient technology of more than 600 years and combining the essence of sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat and corn.
As one of the three famous wines in the world and one of the three famous wines in China, Moutai has a history of more than 800 years. 19 15 won the gold medal and certificate of Panama World Expo. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Moutai won many awards and sold well all over the world. Known as "world famous wine, the light of the motherland."
