The New Curriculum Standard clearly points out: "English teaching should attach importance to reading aloud, so that students can fully read, feel the whole in reading, cultivate a sense of language in reading, and be infected by emotions in reading." In junior high school English learning, "listening, speaking, reading and writing" are indispensable. It is of great significance for students to make good use of English early reading. So as a junior high school English teacher, how to design the morning reading process so that students can improve their English through morning reading classes? Now I will summarize my preliminary design and improvement of the morning reading process as follows:

First, make clear the tasks and contents of English morning reading.

The morning reading task of each class should be arranged the day before the morning reading, and then the class representative should be informed to write it on the whiteboard before the morning reading, so that students can enter the state first under the management of the class representative, and students who arrive early will not waste time. From the textbook, the contents of morning reading are mainly divided into words, dialogues (communicative terms), grammatical sentences, 2b reading articles, 3a written expressions and listening materials. From the point of view of extracurricular supplement, it is mainly divided into classroom notes, extracurricular vocabulary expansion, expression of good words and sentences and excerpts from excellent model essays. Every morning reading task should establish a core content, so that students can really rely on reading to recite in the morning reading class. At the same time, the task of morning reading should avoid "one size fits all", and students of all grades can set different amounts of morning reading content according to their own learning situation.

Second, provide diversified forms of morning reading.

1. Leading reading: it can be divided into class representatives leading reading or outstanding student representatives leading reading and teachers leading reading. Students who lead the reading must be prepared in advance, so as to give everyone a demonstration and let other students see, trust and catch up.

2. Read aloud in chorus: avoid drowsiness in early reading and ignite students' excitement. You can add some clapping or striking the table to make early reading more rhythmic. Read it several times before class to make students tidy and speak loudly.

3. Free reading: The time limit is 10 minute. Students can read by themselves or in groups and supervise each other.

4. Reading competition: various forms of reading competitions are held between individuals and groups. For example, recite short passages and read dialogues between different roles to see who can read fluently and infectiously.

5. Recitation contest: Take the group as a unit, number the members of each group, and compete according to the numbers to improve students' enthusiasm and participation. After the morning reading, they will be evaluated and rewarded in time.

Third, check the effect of early reading in time.

If you only assign morning reading tasks without checking the effect, some students who are not conscious enough will feel lazy, do things unrelated to morning reading or sleep. Therefore, our teachers should check and spot check the effect of early reading. The time can be chosen in the middle or at the end of the morning reading. Students should give consideration to both advantages and disadvantages according to their learning level, and the difficulty is moderate.
