Why can't we apologize?

Apologizing is a very simple thing, but why do some people just dare not? I think there are several reasons. First, I dare not admit my mistakes; second, I dare not face my mistakes; third, I am afraid of retaliation; fourth, I am incapable; fifth, face is more important; sixth, I have no courage; and seventh, my apology is meaningless, so I think it is very important.
