Does anyone know Ulaanbaatar? Can you tell me about the economy, culture and life there now?

Not long ago, I went to Ulaanbaatar. I'm surprised at the number of restaurants in China, and I can't help feeling smug.

So there's a reason. The first time I went to Ulaanbaatar was 13 years ago, that is, 199 1 years ago. At that time, I was still working I went with a high-level delegation and stayed at the government hotel. This is the suburb of Ulaanbaatar. The small building is surrounded by green mountains and the environment is very quiet.

During the visit, in addition to official activities, we also watched horse racing and sheep grabbing on the grassland. The endless green grassland, under the blue sky, is full of white sheep, which is refreshing. The visit went well, but personally, I suffered a lot. Mongolians mainly eat beef and mutton. Although I don't eat it completely, I don't like it from the heart. The meals in government hotels are all beef and mutton. Despite the chef's great efforts, beef, especially mutton, is not small, and it tastes terrible, and people who match it are not used to it.

However, when I went to Ulaanbaatar more than ten years later, I found that there had been great development, especially in recent years, the number of Chinese restaurants has increased rapidly, and it has grown to hundreds, with Sichuan cuisine, Huaiyang cuisine and Fujian cuisine all available.

Chinese restaurants in Ulaanbaatar are run by people from China, Chongqing, Fuzhou and Yangzhou. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and elegantly arranged, with Chinese calligraphy and painting hanging on the wall and red palace lanterns hanging overhead. Dining tables are all Chinese round tables, with a glass turntable in the middle, multi-purpose tableware and white napkins, which are more exquisite than ordinary restaurants in Beijing. When the guests came in, they were greeted by ladies in China cheongsam. Although most of them are local Mongolians, I can occasionally meet girls from China and greet guests in pure Mandarin.

Most of these restaurants have been opened in recent two or three years, that is, since the beginning of the 20th century, with the process of Mongolia's opening to the outside world and the increase of foreign tourists, and they are favored by Mongolians and foreigners. The restaurants we have visited in Tang Long, Huaxing, Hometown and Anokin are full of customers, and the business is quite prosperous.

Of course, there are not only Chinese restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, but also many Japanese and Korean restaurants. There are also many cars made in Japan and South Korea, and there are also large supermarkets specializing in selling Korean goods. As China people who are close to Mongolia, we can't help but feel happy to see the changes brought about by Mongolia's opening to the outside world and the continuous strengthening and development of non-governmental exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia.
