My anal fistula is the external orifice near the midpoint of the connecting line between anus and spinal tail, directly behind the anus, and the internal orifice is in the anus.

Finally, I only used iodophor to wipe the wound. There were no side effects, but I didn't recover.

In the process of online search, I slowly accepted the reality that it should be anal fistula, and finally got up the courage to see the anorectal department. Was diagnosed with anal fistula.

The next step is to prepare for surgery. Anal fistula can be roughly divided into high position and low position. Generally, high anal fistula requires hospitalization, while low anal fistula can be operated in hospital or out-patient.

The hospitalization operation here must be a hemianesthesia operation, that is, hitting a position on the spine with an anesthetic needle and then starting the operation under anesthesia. The advantage is less pain, but the disadvantage is that anesthesia needles are used in the spine, which may have some effects.

Outpatient surgery can choose local anesthesia, and I choose outpatient surgery.

I used a lateral position during the operation, and the whole process was easier than I expected. I have been reluctant to go to the hospital before, just worried about the pain of the operation. But in fact, during the operation, what can be related to pain is a bit like the feeling of being stabbed, and after the local anesthesia takes effect, it doesn't hurt, and you can always chat with people.

On the contrary, I feel uncomfortable before and after the operation. Do anal endoscopy before operation, and the anus will be a little uncomfortable. The first night after the operation is the most uncomfortable in the whole medical process, because the wound needs to be filled with medical cotton and medicine after the operation and then bandaged. Try not to defecate on the first day (so eat less before the operation, I only drink porridge and vegetables). The first night after the operation, I always felt uncomfortable being stuffed in my anus. I finally fell asleep chanting. I went to the hospital to change my dressing the next day. After the doctor took off my dressing, he asked me if I needed to defecate. I tried it and felt uncomfortable. The doctor bandaged it again. In the next few days, I still didn't defecate the next day, which should be because I ate very little. Normal defecation on the third day. After each defecation, take a bath with potassium permanganate for 5 minutes, and then go to the hospital to change the medicine. Until the seventh day, the doctor said I could go to work, and then I went to work on the ninth day. But the wound should be carefully cared for. Take a bath with potassium permanganate once or twice a day. Do not eat spicy food, pay attention to normal defecation. The wound basically recovered completely in a month, but it is still tender, so we should take good care of it.

Generally speaking, the operation of low anal fistula is relatively simple. From the whole operation to recovery, I didn't take any anti-inflammatory drugs, injections or painkillers. After all, overdose is not recommended, as long as I keep the wound clean and recover slowly.

As an experienced person, I suggest that people who suspect anal fistula face up to the problem and seek medical treatment as soon as possible. Because the sooner you see a doctor, the easier it is to deal with. Low anal fistula may develop into high anal fistula, and simple anal fistula may develop into complex anal fistula. Because anal fistula is difficult to heal itself, it must be cured by surgery.
