Where is the White House in America?

The White House is where the president and the government work. There was a war between Britain and America. After the British army occupied Washington City, it set fire to buildings including the US Capitol and the Presidential Palace. Later, in order to cover up the fire traces, the brown-red stone wall of the presidential residence of 18 14 was painted white. Since then, people have called it the "White House".
